I ordered this seat and luggage rack on 4/22, two days after I bought the bike. I finally received it today. I would have had it two weeks ago, but it sat at the post office because they didn't leave a notice that they had attempted to deliver it.

Anyway, I installed both right away. The seat was easy. I just had to transfer a couple brackets from the stock seat. The rack was a little more complicated, but really only required removing 4 bolts and wrangling it into place.

I'll give my impressions of the seat after I have a couple weeks on it. For now I just went for a 2 mile jaunt to check it out. It's definitely flatter and seems slightly wider than the stock seat. The foam is nice and firm. I think I'm going to really like it, but it's too soon to tell.

CB4ME yes it was my wife with me,she would take her bike but I
only have a park pass on my bike.She do not mind riding on the back
and does not get as tired as I. I am still getting 54 mpg two up so I
guess I ride like a old man. The windshield is a National Cycle Plex II.
We did hike some trails, the mosquitoes were like small birds
But the fresh curds were great

Just installed a brake "modulator" from Vizi-Tec. They send it with attached connectors that plug into your bike and they have the correct cb1100 version that you just unplug the taillight near the battery and plug in their little box. Its not continuous blinking but it changes according to how you use the brakes.... Blinks then stays on and a few other features. Seems to be a good safety feature.

This is on the port side of the bike. It looks like a battery maintainer connector, but if this is a feature it is completely undocumented.

I rode my CB for the first time today and dropped it.

It’s been six years since I sold my Nighthawk so I knew I was rusty.

So I spent a couple of hours just riding around my waterfront neighborhood where all streets end in cul-de-sacs and if you keep going you’re in the drink.

Never got out of second gear.

Came back to the house and tried to park as close to the edge of the driveway as possible, came to a complete stop, and planted my right foot down in the grass. As I leaned the bike slightly to the right so I could use my left foot to set down the stand my right foot slipped in the grass and over we went.

I called AAA and they said they would send out a crane equipped wrecker to pick the bike up.

A bit later I and 3 neighbors got the bike upright. No damage at all except to my pride. I canceled the wrecker.

Note to self -

1. I am very greatfull I was wearing a helmet. Even though I had no forward motion my head smacked pretty hard.

2. Do not wear boat shoes when riding.

3. Be thankful that it rained a lot in the last week and the yard was soft.

Just got my Honda service manual, and it appears to be an excellent manual.
Its a long time before I need to check clearance but here are some things I have learned from wrenching on Honda CRF250's and CRF450's for many years. (head design appears very similar)
-You dont need special tool to back off the cam chain tensioner.
Use a small flat bladed screwdriver, back of tension then lock screwdriver in place with a small pair of vice grips (When valves need to be shimmed).
-Plug all oil gallies, in case you drop a shim: trust me on this one
-I found the best way to remove reluctant shims was with a piece of gorilla tape (clean off oil first)
-Shim size may be worn of by the time you check valve clearance, then you will need to measure shim with micrometer.
Record clearance gaps and shim sizes.
-Clean oil off cam chain and cam gear and mark position of chain on gear in 3 spots with a sharpie. Insures everything is correct when re-installing cams.
-Keep tension on cam chain as cams are removed, don't let in drop off bottom gear- tie up with a mini bungy.
-I always used a bit of assembly lube on shim, bucket, cam journals and cam lobes.
-Use a good quality torque wrench (I use Proto) in/lbs and ft lbs.

When I looked at their website last month, Puig didn't list the CB1100.
