  Off topic but fun!

Deb talked me into parking my new baby long enough to take her two 1978 CX500's out for some exercise tonight... Was fun but can't wait for the next spin on my new toy!

  Too funny...
Posted by: ride4now_imp - 06-23-2013, 02:30 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

So, I'm out on my first 'real' ride this morning. Treasure
Island, Fl. south over the Skyway Bridge (is my CB1100
the first one over this bridge??), down into Sarasota, back over
the bridge, through downtown St. Pete and then over to
Jim's Harley Davidson where I do business with my HD.
A guy pulls up on a newer Road King, looks at my CB and
says... Now there's an OLD ONE! Too funny... I told him
it was brand new. He shook his head and road off. Maybe
my Harley Jacket had him confused? This CB is terrific...
all it needs is a windscreen, highway pegs (I'm 6 ft and
need to stretch out a bit), and a luggage rack and it would
be almost perfect. A belt drive instead of the chain would
make it perfect.

  Who has adjusted their chain?
Posted by: the Ferret - 06-22-2013, 11:00 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (125)

At 2,100 miles my chain is finally due for its first adjustment exhibiting slightly more than the 1 1/4" max specified.

So I was wondering if anyone else has had to adjust theirs yet and at what approximate mileage?

Bar risers, Pro Grips, Buell pegs, NC Street Shield, Cortech tail bag, Corbin seat w/ backrest, shorty exhaust & license plate mount mod. On the way is luggage rack, speedo/tach chrome covers & crash bar.

Local dealer had a Dyno set up for an Open House. So had an opportunity to see what the stock bike looked like. For sure a Torque bike! Flat as can be...

  Tank Paint Protection
Posted by: HondaJon_imp - 06-21-2013, 09:54 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Anyone have or know of any type of tank protection/protector for the knee grooves? I really don't want to cover up the beautiful red, but I don't want to scratch it either. I was thinking of having XPEL film installed ( it has done great on my car) but have to find out if gasoline will harm it. Just fishing for ideas and seeing what you all may have done.
