Does anyone here use this bag? I just got one and thought I'd ask about your mounting points. (This is the bag with the straps and buckles, not the one with bungee-style mounting.) I've attempted to attach to the passenger foot peg brackets. It works for the front straps, but the rear straps have me stumped. If I mount to the same point as the front straps, I'm concerned that the bag will move forward as I ride, because the passenger pegs are slightly forward of where the bag will sit. If you have this bag, how did you mount it?

Front wheel :
axle pinch bolts...... 6 mm allen
r/s axle nut ..... 22 mm
l/s axle head..... 17 mm allen
Wooden mallet
Small phillips screwdriver or rod to fit hole

Rear wheel :
r/s axle nut..... 32 mm. ( 1 1/4" will fit)
l/s axle nut .... 27 mm
Chain adjuster bolts......8 mm

front brake calipers..... 12 mm

Clutch and brake lever clamps..... 8 mm

Handlebar clamps bolts....6 mm allen

Headlight bucket..... 6 mm allen

front fork triple tree clamps upper ..... 12 mm
Lower ..... 14 mm

Side covers .... 5 mm allen (in tool kit)

Battery ..... medium phillips or 10 mm socket

Oil drain bolt ... 17 mm socket

Motor mount bolts ...the ones I could get to were.... 17 mm and.... 14 mm

If I think of anything else, I'll add it later
Whenever possible use 6 point instead of 12 point tools.

Pick up a tube of permatech "Anti- seize" to use on most of your pinch type bolts

And a tube of multi purpose lithium grease or a tub of wheel bearing grease for greasing axles

And a tub of citrus cleaner for your hands. If you are going to work on the bike yourself, you're going to get a little greasy

At Harbor Freight you can pick up a bundle of 50 shop rags for like $7. If one gets really greasy, don't bother washing it, just throw it away.

A roll of paper towels comes in real handy.

I also keep a box of latex gloves on the tool box which helps some, but you are still going to get greasy lol

I see where forum member Ferret said the rear axle nut was 32mm...looks like you would want a 32mm box end wrench to get in there...what have people used on this? Does the other side need to be held while tightening the 32?

While in Lowes Hardware a couple days ago I noticed a telescoping mirror a little bigger than a credit card with built in LED lights. Thought this might be just the thing for checking the oil in the sight glass without having to stoop down. Works great. Leave it hanging on the wall next to the bike. I don't stoop so well these days!

I completed my 1st scheduled service on the CB last night. Changing the oil and filter on this bike is a breeze. The bike is now happy once again and ready to roll until the next scheduled service.

If anyone here has not maintained their own bikes, but are contemplating doing so, the first servicing is very non-intimidating. Ferret has put together a great write-up, complete with a plethora of photos, over in the "How To" section. I just went by the factory service manual, but I did take a look at ferret's write-up afterwards to see if there was anything I might have missed.

Do the dealers allow test drives on the CB1100 prior to purchasing?

I tried to demo the bike during bike week in Daytona however Honda was not doing demos for any motorcycles that week.

Also what is the OTD price for the CB1100?

I am located in Jacksonville Florida.

I thought I recalled seeing someone on the forum who, like myself, also owns a Yamaha Super Tenere. I'm going to the National Super Tenere rally in Ouray, CO, from June 24th to 28th and was just curious if that person might be going to the rally also. I thought it would be fun to talk to someone who has both bikes, and it would also enable me to not annoy the other rally-goers with my slobbering love talk about the CB1100. Anyone here have a XT1200Z?

The next two pics were taken on the Lolo Motorway, a 100 mile long off-road ride along the Montana/Idaho border. Was kind of sketchy in a few places for a novice like me. Let's just say the bike handled it better than I did.
