It just pass 950 miles, I had first oil change at 550 with regular Shell "synthetic blend" 10w-30 and notice gas mileage improves a lot from 43 MPG at 100 miles to 56 MPG lately - 217 miles trip with 3.86 gallons today (first refill at 51 miles with .86 gal; today 3 gal for a total of 217) Gas mileage improves each time I fill up. when NEW at 43, 45, 49, 51, now 56.

I ride neither aggressive nor conservative, frequent at 70-80 MPH in hiway, occasional accelerate hard to 5K+ RPM; in city I shift later than Honda recommends (5th at 27 MPH, I regular at 35) City riding is worse because of stop and go. I admit I break in the bike gently for I intend to extract as much as I can from gas, tires and chain.

Honda claimed CB1100 has 60 MPG, I now believe if I ride at 70 MPH in hiway and gently in city, it is possible. my goal is to hit the 60 MPG. Just bought the windshield and follow up in the future with mileage.

How come there was were only white CB1100's available in Canada, and the US got the Red ones.....honda can suck balls!!
Nice that they provide so many choices.....
If there are any US dealers on the forum can you tell me if there is any issues with coming south and getting a red CB and bringing it back up north? Seems like there are lots left in the states, only 3 white ABS bikes in all of Canada. Guess thats why they only allowed 75 bikes to come here....hard to sell bikes if you don't actually put them in the showrooms.....great marketing.

Soooo this morning I tell my wife that we should take a quick ride so I can roll the new bike to 600 miles. It was windy as well and I thought it would be a good check of how the cb does in gusts.

Soo like we hop on the bikes and buzz around a bit - the bike was quite steady in the wind gusts(24mph gusts). We stopped for coffee and when we got back on I turned on the key and bingo -- right on 600. Sweet!

Just got my package from Takashi today (it only took 4 days I should add) and here is what I got:

K and H Hi double tuck and roll seat B2 with grab strap - This seat is perfection. All the threads on the forum about K and H are dead on. The ride height is now ideal for me, the bend in my knees is much less and the padding is superb.

AGRAS front stabilizer - Another machined piece of art that tightens the front end right up.

A set of black Tanax "Napoleon" Branen Classic mirrors - Saw these on the Hakofugu Whitehouse bike, Takashi got them for me, $40 for the pair - Also high quality and great view - No more chrome lollipops.

Takashi also included a nice glossy Honda factory sales booklet and accessories catalog in the box as well.

Finally found a set of soft saddlebags I'm happy with for my CB 1100. Made by Tourmaster they are called the " Select" series. There is also a matching tail bag and Tankbag.

They don't require moving the turn signals, yet still leave plenty of room for the rider. Come with rain covers, leaves plenty of room for stock muffler. Has a reflective stripe at night.

This is a follow-up to the thread Buffalohead posted about the sissybar on his friend Mike’s CB1100 with sidecar.

Mike mounted a Jardine short backrest onto a Honda rear carrier. I wanted a lower profile setup so I went with the Jardine mini backrest.

The mini backrest wasn’t a perfect fit, so I made a pair of makeshift mounting brackets using 0.2” thick aluminum plates.

I started by drilling a couple of holes in each side of the carrier. Since the carrier sides are angled, I made some wedges from an old cutting board that my wife will never miss, and I placed these wedges on either side so the mounting bolts would be in line with the sissybar

Two ¼” x 1.5” stainless steel bracket mounting bolts go through the wedges and the drilled holes in the carrier. The bolts in turn hold 2 aluminum plates in place. The backrest then mounts to the plates.

More than a few folks would consider it sacrilege to cob together plastic and aluminum bits to make a mounting bracket and attach them to an otherwise nice motorcycle. But I was getting tired of not finding a good sissybar solution. This will do until I find something better. It’s very solid and will make my wife much more comfortable. Plus now I can goose it with the wife on the bike and not get yelled at (as much).

Went for a ride this morning on an old country road i have not been on in years. Passing this house with what looks like an old cultivating piece on equipment i remembered taking a photo many years ago with my first road bike 1975 CB500T. I turned around to get a shot.
