Anyone know if the non USA CB's have a catalytic converter?

Also, for any of you who have replaced your header pipe and had a chance to look down the stock header, just how restrictive is the cat?

Pulled into my local gas station which recently installed diesel at several of the pumps. I used one of those pumps today and won't use a pump again if equipped with diesel. When a person spills diesel on the ground it does not evaporate like gasoline does. It just lies there and makes an oily - slippery mess on the ground.

So doing my straddling-the-bike fill up routine, I was surprised when I put my left foot down to balance the bike and my left foot slipped out from under like I was wearing roller blades. Luckily I put down the kick stand before I do anything, and that saved the day. Had it been my right foot, I would have landed on the gas pump.

Ok, let me try this again. The speed sensor is the black
wire running along the rear swing arm on none abs models
from the rear brake caliper to the wiring harness inside the
right sidecover (one with CB1100 on it) by the air box lid.
You can unhook it/disable it but it is illegal to alter this
wire in Texas because it disconnects the speedo/odo which
would alter the actual miles of the vehicle when you sell it.
So now your top speed is faster but you cannot see it on dash.
Bike does not care what gear you are in, when speed sensor
sees 112 MPH it shuts off fuel/air. Done for Japan market.

This wire seems to be getting its read off of a round slotted disk mounted to the rear wheel. I masked and cover the holes of this disk and it had no effect on the speedo. I'm wondering if the removal of this indicator would not allow the limiter to read the 112 mph. You would probably have to re-balance your rear wheel. Any thoughts from the tech guys here??

just got thru installing the z-fi controller and guyra windscreen from chic designs on my cb1100. since the bike is still stock i am using the pre programmed map that came in the z-fi. at my first check up i'll have it dyno'd. i can definitely tell a difference in throttle response.the guys at bazzaz said it would "wake" the bike up,and that is a great description of what it does.it's a suttle difference but it is noticeable . if dynoing the bike makes a big difference i'll be pleasantly surprised. this bike is soooooo much fun to ride.also ,i love the windscreen,it's barely noticable.will post pics later. clear days everybody,mitch

so i want to buy the cb1100 i live in california they want to 10k for it because i want the abs model. i wanted to know if anybody had bought this bike for way less because i love this bike i just got my permit on 8/26/2013 and i know a lot of people say " oh this bike is to big or to heavy or even to powerfull" but im 6'1 and weigh like 270 pounds and i felt great on this bike im a mature driver and i will still transfer my maturity to a bike i know its about rider skill but as i ride i will develop skill. now i did look at a few other bikes but none of them i felt were a good choice. i felt i had a better connection with this bike but the price is kind of iffy if you know what i mean regardless if i cant get a better deal ill still buy this bike im preparing for it next month towards my birthday but all in all those who comment on this post i know most of you will say its not the best choice of a beginner bike but hey i'd rather learn from the mistakes i make and prevent new one to occur i want this bike because as most of you riders out there who bought there first brand new or used bike knew the consequences and rewards of your decisions so please dont judge i just want to see if anyone could possibly tell me if they were able to know down a few dollars off this bike being the abs model or not just to see if i could get a better deal

Well, I knew I was cutting it close making it to a gas station this morning. It took 3.954 U.S. gals at fill up, and I rode it off the interstate and in to the gas station under its own power.

The tank on the CB1100 is a little funky. I find you can fill it up to within a few mm of spilling over, then after a second or two, it will settle down below the filler neck. It seemed you could play this game almost indefinitely, but I'd alway lose interest or run out of time after 4 or 5 iterations.

It was only 177 miles since the last fill, which is not my highest, but iirc, I didn't play the silly filly game on the prior fill, which is good for about .4 or .5 gallons. In fact, my highest mileage on a tank was 184 mi., after which it took only 3.3 gallons.

Anyway, good to know it can hold that much.

There are a couple things I'm looking for in an exhaust in order of priority.
1) Retain Center Stand
2) Increased Torque (i.e. 10%)
3) Chrome (Alough if full exhaust it could be a conservative looking titanium)
4) Smaller to reduce leg burns
5) Slipon instead of Full Exhaust

It doesn't seem that most actually post any before / after numbers. Any advice?

Only about 110 total miles, but a nice afternoon with the better half and a super-nice ride on the CB. Weather today was just perfect, too.

First we headed over to the Beemer/KTM dealer in Asheville to kick tires as Lois has been thinking about trading hers for a GS for awhile. While she looked, I poked around sitting on this and that and decided if I win the lottery maybe a K1600 or R1200RT...pricey buggers though, but I really didn't see anything else that I thought I could live with long-term. The GS didn't really ring any bells for Lois either.

We then stopped in at the 'big 4' dealer down the street as I wanted to see the new Honda 500's. I liked all 3, but the fully faired CBR500R is the one I'd go home with...what a nice package and price point; wish I had something like that when I was just starting out.

After that we hit the 5 Brothers hamburger outlet for our weekly cholesterol binge then headed home via the Parkway with a quick detour down to the bottom and back to the top of NC151 (off the parkway, 10 miles of smooth, tight twisties with almost nil traffic) so the CB could get a proper workout all the while making me look like a better rider than I actually am...

Anyhow, like I said, 'quality time', and I was on the perfect bike to enjoy it!!

Greetings, I think I'm getting close to purchasing the 1100 from a dealer several hundred miles from home and have a couple questions.
1. I have read per Owners Manual break in is 300 miles, does it mention RPM limitation are just the usual stuff like no full throttle?
2. What must be removed to gain access to battery terminals?
3. I'm thinking of a 4x1 exhaust system like the K or Yoshimura, do they both keep center stand and easy access for maintenance........is there a good 4x1 chrome system out there?
