Painting the headers and exhaust. - cbsheep_imp - 09-02-2013 Is there a way to paint the headers and exhausts into matte black like moriwaki's black dual exhaust? Thanks RE: Painting the headers and exhaust. - ChipBeck_imp - 09-02-2013 Yes but not with paint. You can have them Jet-Hot coated flat or gloss black (or several other colors). Google JetHot coatings for info. Chip RE: Painting the headers and exhaust. - Randy B - 09-02-2013 The trick is all in the prep.
RE: Painting the headers and exhaust. - The Spaceman_imp - 09-02-2013 +1 on the VHS. It worked very well on my DL1000 exhaust. You'll need to scuff the metal with emery cloth or a 3M Scotchbrite pad to get good adhesion. With careful masking you can probably do the job with the system installed, but pulling it is probably a better idea. RE: Painting the headers and exhaust. - silascopathic_imp - 09-02-2013 +1 again from me I used this on my thunderheader on my old Harley. It worked great! best part, if you ever need to touch it up, it blends perfectly
RE: Painting the headers and exhaust. - Greg_imp - 09-03-2013 Zircotec ceramic coatings! Black, white or colors if nothing but the best will do. http://www.zircotec.com/page/--primary-range/91 |
