Is there a way to paint the headers and exhausts into matte black like moriwaki's black dual exhaust? Thanks

Yes but not with paint. You can have them Jet-Hot coated flat or gloss black (or several other colors). Google JetHot coatings for info.

The trick is all in the prep.

+1 on the VHS. It worked very well on my DL1000 exhaust. You'll need to scuff the metal with emery cloth or a 3M Scotchbrite pad to get good adhesion. With careful masking you can probably do the job with the system installed, but pulling it is probably a better idea.

+1 again from me I used this on my thunderheader on my old Harley. It worked great! best part, if you ever need to touch it up, it blends perfectly

Zircotec ceramic coatings! Black, white or colors if nothing but the best will do.
