Went to the garage this morning ( 19 degrees in NY ) to start some equipment, frozen and snapped accelerator cable on our utility vehicle, ether out for the 1st time with our diesels. Getting to old for this, NC is looking better and better.

  Some Cosmetic Upgrades

Hi Guys,

I finally got the bike back up to the workshop on Thursday night. I definitely need some heated gear - BRRRRRRRR!

My wife bought me some presents for my Birthday and I was able to put them on. Carbon Air Cleaner Covers, a Carbon Shifter/Sprocket Cover, Gold Anodized Resevoir covers and an oil cooler shroud.

Plus I gave her a nice wax with Adam's Glaze and Americana Wax. Man I love this bike!

Anyway - here are some pics:

Bling won't get you home, but it sure looks good!

  Light weight helment?
Posted by: kenfyoozed_imp - 11-24-2013, 03:49 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (5)

Im looking for a lightweight fullface helmet. I have 2 discs in my neck that are pretty much gone. Its a daily pain I live with, but thats life. I would like to get any opinions on a light weight full face helmet.I would love a half helmet but for some reason I cant breath at speeds over 40mph. Not sure why, but I have always been this way. Weird I know - Blush

  Shorty Exhaust

Has anyone tried replacing stocker exhaust with something like this universal shorty?
This thing sounds great on my ’80 CB750.
Found mine at Dime City Cycles.

  Shoei NeoTech
Posted by: gogoAZ_imp - 11-22-2013, 10:11 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - No Replies

Just my 2 cents on the Shoei NeoTech helmet.

My last Shoei was a X-11 and it was awesome. That was a while ago when I was in my SuperSport phase. Had a GSX-R 750. So I decided to go a different route since I needed a new helmet anyway.

Enter the NeoTech. I threw it on my head and it felt comfortably familiar. Perfect fit around the dome, squished cheeks, and no wobble. The little red lever in the front pops the front open. This makes it easy to put it on and off, chat at a stop light, or have a quick smoke at a rest area (don't want to hear it, I'm trying to quit). Face up, not for riding.

When you click the face closed, there is a locking pin on either side of the helmet. Much better locking system than say a Shark Evoline 3. I tried that helmet on at a local shop and it was crap (IMO). Anyway, the helmet is light enough on my melon. It is also decently vented. Then there is the cool inner shield that slides down and is tinted. Since I wear glasses, this was a nice selling point.

Riding the CB, with no windscreen, it does well at speed. Not too much bouncing around. And mine, gloss black, looks good. Well, the CB makes it look good...lol.

The only real gripe I have about the helmet is the price. $600!?!?

Ok, that was more like 4 cents. That is all.

  De-tuned Engine
Posted by: Darpo_imp - 11-22-2013, 05:58 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (35)

We all know this inline 4 is silky smooth and also de-tuned. I believe because being air cooled and emission requirements. My question is...should there be any concern riding this baby hard (below red). Just because it is de-tuned I'm hoping it's even more willing and able to get pushed w/out concern of pre mature wear or damage. Honda's engineering is legendary for being rock solid, so I couldn't imagine.BikerThanks
