So the temperature is in the low 20s here today in Northern VA with 2+ inches of fresh snow on the ground and streets. Not going to be riding the CB for a while. What better time to work on my new Arrow exhaust system and remove the baffle.

In a previous post, I did a short review of the Arrow slip on muffler I purchased for my CB and installed over the X-Mas holiday. The muffler comes approved for street use and has a built in baffle that can be removed. Holding the baffle in place is a small metal tab that is tac welded in place on the outer edge of the muffler end cap as well as a metal snap ring. The bike with the baffle sounds good, slightly louder than stock with a throatier sound.

To remove the baffle you must take a small cold chisel and hammer and carefully tap the edge of the welded metal tab near the baffle. The tab will simply snap off. This is a throw away piece and is not needed to put the baffle back in place. Next, take a pair or snap ring pliers or needle nose pliers and remove the metal snap ring around the outer circumference of the baffle. Then take a pair of needle nose pliers or vise grips and gently pull the baffle straight out the end of the muffler. This take a bit of patience but after some trial and error, I final got my baffle to slip out.

Below are a couple of videos of the exhaust with and without the baffle. I am very impressed with the build quality of the Arrow exhaust as well as the sound. I also like the fact that you can change the baffle configuration for quiet or loud running. The exhaust with the baffle removed is much louder than stock and really gives the bike a presence on the street. Once I can get the bike on the road, I will report back about the sound and performance of the bike at speed. Enjoy.

I noticed this morning that my rear turn signals aren't illuminated while the engine is on. My front signals are on so I thought it was a bit weird. All signals work when i indicate. So my question is, should you only be able to see my tail brake lights at night from behind?

Has anyone purchased their CB1100 or other bike from a Honda dealer in the Seattle area?

I think I'll pull the trigger on a CB1100 in the next couple of weeks and would love some recommendations on where to go. Or where to avoid.

I'm pretty excited about this bike. I've been riding a Suzuki TU250x for about a year and look forward to the bigger engine. I like the vintage style and it sounds like with the CB1100, unlike the Bonneville or Sportster, I won't be wanting to upgrade half the bike right away.

Been reading the Moto Guzzi V7 thread over on ADVRider.com and someone posted a pic of a Gazi shock on their Guzzi so I checked and they DO have two shocks that fit the CB1100.

after a first 1000 miles, my bike develops rattle noise I believe from instrument panel. It always happens when start the engine first time of the day when the engine is cold in first gear at less than 10 MPH from complete stop, as the engine warms up after a mile or so, the rattle noise disappears in same condition. I look at the engine, nothing loosed, the noise appears from the instrument but I am not certain.

Anyone has this problem???

I can't seem to find what size socket/wrench I'll need for the rear axle. I have an adjustable wrench but it's not metric but I'd rather get the corrected sized tools.

Anybody here know?

Hello, I'm Fleetwood, just bought my new 2013 CB1100 a week before Christmas lol but I wanted to ask a question about my oil. The bike still has the original oil in it, and I was wondering if it was break in oil and if it need to be changed sooner than the interval specified in the owners manual? Would it hurt to change the oil at 1000 miles? Thank you for any info

wow mother nature treated us right today. Started off near freezing but climbed quickly into the upper 40's. Felt like spring ha ha. My brother and I take a traditional New Years Day ride (weather permitting) to set the tone for the year and today it permitted.

after lunch we headed across a road called St Rt 133 but old timers know it as Buffalo Trace as the Buffalo used this ridge to travel north south on their way too and from the salt licks in Kentucky. Once we hit the river road we rode east to a little town called Ripley where we stopped and watched the Mighty Ohio flow past for awhile while enjoying a cup of hot tea.

leaving Ripley we rode west down the river spotting a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree over looking the river, until we got back home.

Great day, great tradition got in 100.4 miles today. Tomorrow they are calling for 1-2" of snow again. Ahh the fun of living in the Ohio Valley. Don't like the weather? Wait 10 minutes and it will change lol. Bike is back on the battery tender until next time .......
