My dealer just called and said Honda released the info on the 2014 CB 1100s for the U.S.

As leaked info indicated there will be 2 models..the Standard and the Deluxe

Std will be black with black wheels not sure if there are any other changes to that model that would be different than ours.

Deluxe will be red with the 4 into 2, double walled chrome header pipes, 6 speed, 1/2 gallon larger tank, revised instruments with gear indicator, new turn signals, headlight relocated up 1" ..and he said ( from memory) it also had mag wheels ( note he may be wrong on that..We will see)

If the weather cooperates tomorrow I will run down and look at specs and pictures to see of I can get more info including prices if he has them.

I would love to buy a CB1100 but I have a problem with my left knee, I cant have it bent too much because after a couple of minutes it starts to hurt
Is there a company that sells forward controls for the CB1100 ?

Maybe it's just the Doctor Who episode I'm watching (where plastic is trying to take over the world), but I'm finding a surprising amount of plastic on my beauty. In the shop, I was perhaps too caught up staring at the deep metallic tank and forgot to look at all the other pieces. Heck, on the Sabre, I did find the plastic fender and since I touched the turn signals here on the CB, I see I've got my work cut out for me. I admit, though, Honda has done a good job at giving the body a sense of minimalism.. but they do it with blk plastic!

Question: What plastic parts are you all trying to modify?

The fit and quality of this saddle is outstanding.

It is the stepped, tuck & roll model in tan leather.

I have installed the chrome meter covers and the Dart fly screen. There is not enough clearance and the bracket touches the meter covers. When driving this results in a vibration sound from the bracket hitting the meters.

A little filing to get 1-2mm of clearance and all is good.

I've informed Dart and they will correct in future versions.

I was able to go for a little ride around Hertford, picked up a few things from the grocery store and then a loop around the country roads and back to the house.

So terrified was I by the Ferret's demand for pictures when I first posted on this site that I now travel everywhere with my trusty Nikon Coolpix S8000 slung around my neck on a lanyard. I take photos like a maniac, just in case.

People are now asking who is the idiot who rides everywhere one-handed.

I've mentioned the Bellbird Creek Tea House before. It's a good place for me to go to get a coffee because it encourages bikers, there are usually others there, and there are plenty of ways to get there that are fun rides. So, when I want to escape for a coffee and have a bit of a ride to get there, that's where I go.

The mountain to the left is right behind the town where I live. It's about 1400 ft high. Every year there's a running race from the centre of the town to the summit and back. The record's about 23 or 24 minutes. Takes me more than an hour to walk up the damned thing.

Believe it or not, this is the major road from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, to Cairns, the northernmost city. To be fair, it is dual carriageway until about 15 kms south of where this was taken and is gradually being extended.

I went to a Chevron station to top off my tank after a ride this morning. The Chevron had just been renovated and has all new pumps and equipment. I stuck the nozzle in the tank and the end of the nozzle bottoms out on the hump in the tank before the vapor recovery seal engaged with the neck. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the gas to flow.

CA (and some other states) have vapor recovery systems that also sense when the tank is full and click off flow of gas. They also recover gas vapor and won't flow unless the seal engages.

I just went to a different station up the street that had a longer bellows on the seal mechanism and filled up no problem. Won't go back to that Chevron.

Anyone else ran in to this issue?

After coffee at The Grotto in Cave Creek I swung up to Bartlett Lake. Tank was a bit low but I risked it anyway. Coming back I got the dreaded flashing red E sign. Gassed up in Carefree, took 2.69 gallons while going 132 miles. Almost 49mpg.

If anyone is planning in the near future about coming over for the TT races and needs any info please ask, been going since 67, CB will be going this year,
