Big temp changes and storing my bike outdoors caused the entire bike to become soaked with heavy heavy dew. Everything painted is fine, bare metal has rusted, bare and painted aluiminum is pitted or stained. The pictured white marks on the motor are where the black is gone to expose the aluminum from the water drops.
I'm really disappointed, my BMW I kept outside and uncovered, more then once and nothing like this ever happened for over a year and a half?
This was after about a month, she's now coming to work with me for some 24hr heat untill I can find somewhere else. I wish it had sold....

Everyone storing unheated keep an eye on moisture.

Can anyone top 4 CB1100's together... in the wild?




I met up with fellow Forum member Sanpete for a quick 300
mile round trip day ride to the east coast of Florida today to
visit with another fellow Forum member Greg Davis.



Thats Greg on the left, Sanpete in the middle, and me to the
right. Greg is the proud owner of two of those CB's plus
a few other sweet rides in his garage.



Sanpete... we'll have to do it again sometime. Greg, if you can
get a reunion put together (not the correct word.. but you know
what I mean) up in the Carolina's, I'll try to make sure that I get
my CB up to Georgia so I can attend.

I was able to get out today for about 65 miles around the country back roads and back to the waterfront before heading home.

Got to the Grotto this morning and noticed my license plate was hanging by one screw (the finger tightened black plastic/nylon ones). WTH!? Completely lost my license plate on the Griso over New Years (2 metal fasteners); I've never had a this sort of problem - ever.

I've ordered some stainless steel screws with locking nuts to replace the current fasteners.

So this is a heads up to you all to double check your plate fasteners and to post your favorite fasteners for the license plate (while also thinking this thread should not even be needed!).

My wife kindly bought me some accessories for Xmas so my machine now has an Oil Cooler Guard from RG-Racing in the UK as we do get a bit of gravel here in NZ and it made sense to; also bought me a set of their Engine Protection Bobbins.
Guard popped straight on without any drama but the Bobbins had a problem with the spacers supplied as there was too much of an air gap (IMHO) between the Engine and new plates with the supplied spacers. I sent an enquiry to RG but am still awaiting an answer, probably the time of year.
As I wanted them fitted I made some up on the lathe to suit the gap and have them fitted, visually they look OK and hopefully they will never be used.

I'll make this short and to the point... I've got an ST1300 for over night trips, a vfr800 for all day trips, and a cb750 (that I absolutely love) for trips around town. Here's my question, how does the CB1100 suit you for all day and over night trips? I'm considering a CB1100 and selling the ST and VFR. I love the vintage look, and appreciate the modern performance and reliability. Good idea? I'm particularly interested in feedback from those of you that have set up and taken your CB11 on multi-day trips... What are the pros and cons of the CB compared to a more conventional sport Touring bike?

Say I just checked with Tucker Rocky Dist. and I see they will be stocking the O.E. Bridgestone tires for CB1100 so you will not have to
go to your Honda dealer to get them.
You should be able to get them from any after market shop that buys from Tucker Rocky or Bikers Choice.
Their # for them are 30-0370 front and 30-0371 rear.
The retail price they show is very high but most after market shops sell them for less. When I was in bis. we marked tires up 24 to 32% over cost.
I did check and they had a few in stock, not many.

I think I will try a pair in the fall.
