Dart fly screen bracket issue with chrome meter covers - Elipten_imp - 01-20-2014 I have installed the chrome meter covers and the Dart fly screen. There is not enough clearance and the bracket touches the meter covers. When driving this results in a vibration sound from the bracket hitting the meters. A little filing to get 1-2mm of clearance and all is good. I've informed Dart and they will correct in future versions. About three weeks ago I noticed the buzzing and rattling you experienced. After ensuring the bolts were snug I slipped a small piece of double sided tape between the guage and the edge of the screen. Problem solved. The bits of tape can't be seen unless you're looking for them. I forgot where or why I bought the tape, but its thicker the standard stuff. RE: Dart fly screen bracket issue with chrome meter covers - Bayoucityrider_imp - 01-21-2014 I had the same problem. I ended up removing the covers and selling them here on this forum. I chose to remove more so for cosmetic reasons, had replaced my mirrors with stock cb500x mirrors which are black and chrome inst. covers with the dark smoke fly screen looked out of place to me so i took them off. Im sure Dart will fix with an extended bracket to allow more clearance if its not too costly. |
