What other motorcycle websites are worth checking out?

I don't really go anywhere else.. used to check out motorcycledaily all the time...but they don't do anywhere near as much bike tests as they did 20 years ago.

  CB1100 Restauration
Posted by: The Gecko_imp - 01-09-2023, 05:07 PM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (12)

Ever wondered if you should do the same to your beloved CB ?

[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acXWwdTzPHw/]On Youtube : Honda CB 1100 EX Detailing e restauro

( ... I guess from Italy ).

I am actually quite surprised that the rotary brushes he uses in some parts of the vid do not go right through the chrome surface layers.
Click on the "more" button under the vid frame if you feel in need for some help from Amazon and Co. Wink

  "Internal Server Error"
Posted by: Nachodaddy - 01-07-2023, 06:29 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

Three out of four tries today to get on this site or move from one point to another have resulted in a page titled "Internal Server Error," with instructions to notify the Administrator.
Since I don't know how to do this, I thought I'd better say something. Hope this helps.
Don't know if it is my computer/internet, or the site.
Thanks.

  Front brake lever ROCK hard
Posted by: ichiban_imp - 01-06-2023, 07:47 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (37)

Hey guys, I was bleeding the front brakes on my CB1100 18 YM. Everything is routine, cracked the 8mm bolt and start bleeding after a few pumps later there is no fluid coming out and the front lever is rock hard.

I have tried both front calipers and both have no fluid coming out! What the hell has happened any clues?

Never seen this on any bike I have owned.

  Passenger peg alternatives
Posted by: mpuhl_imp - 01-05-2023, 11:43 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (4)

I'm looking to upgrade the passenger pegs on my 2013 since I'll be doing a decent amount of 2-up riding. I'm specifically looking for replacements that have some rubber on them, and would love to find some that offer a bit more space (maybe some mini floorboards). I know that options that fold up may be limited, but has anyone replaced the stock passenger pegs with something they like better?

what you see behind the wiper
Posted by: The Gecko_imp - 01-05-2023, 02:37 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (21)

Dear experienced CB owner with a pretty wiper in the oil check window ... I guess you know what I mean. Could one of you please try and explain the following observations :

- oil & filter change, carefully filled up, but after test ride I notice that there is a little too much oil in the engine,
- on the main stand, oil level is a tenth of an inch above the upper level line, still a little air visible in the window,
- an hour later I open the oil filter a little, a little oil runs out ( as expected ) and I screw the filter back on,
- next I check the window, and guess what, the whole window is filled with oil, no air bubble visible no more,
- next I run the engine for a minute, wait 5 minutes, to check the window again: level is right at the upper mark.

I am not a firm believer in daemons or wizards, and the final result is just what I wanted. BUT: how can the level go up in between ? The bike wasn't moved one inch during the procedure.
