I have a friend in Israel whom has a small motor cycle shop and is a great Honda mechanic.
He has bought some bikes in the USA and kept them in my basement till they were 25 years old and he could import them into Israel.
(CBX and 650 Turbo)
Last year he went with me to Barbers and we have gone to a few CBX rallies in the States.
He called today and said that Honda is going to bring some 2014 CB1100 into Israel and he will be one of 5 mechanics to be trained by Honda on this bike.
Sale price in Israel $40.000 for the DLX !!!
We should never complain what we pay for our bikes in the USA.

  OptiGlanz back in stock

It was sold out for a while (we think Elipten bought the last one) but not counting the bottle I just ordered, there are now 30 in stock on Amazon. Free (and very slow) shipping.

  New Biltwell Gringo
Posted by: B166er_imp - 07-08-2014, 08:23 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (5)

And my buddy's badass Harley. got a chance to use the Biltwell, for the first time, riding my first HD..... Both are very nice!

Helmet is comfortable, great visibility with a pair of RayBans and I think it looks about 85% as nice as the Bell Bullitt I had to send back.

Oh.... The HD is a 2012 Sportster Forty Eight. With lots of extras. It's like operating a piece of farm equipment with a jet engine. 10.5 / 1 compression, 1200cc.

  Dragging
Posted by: CBoz_imp - 07-07-2014, 09:49 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (31)

Confession.
Rode in to work this morning and hit the city streets just before 7am.
It was still dark and I came up to a set of red lights. A v8 Holden statesman was already waiting in the right lane.
The lanes merge into one after the lights and I stopped left to the statesman with the intention of quickly pulling away and getting in front.
I watched the crossing road lights turn yellow and saw the statesman nudge forward.
Our lights turned green and in that split second I realised the driver probably did not want me to be the first across the lights.
I don't know what came over me - I twisted the throttle hard, at the same time hearing a mighty roar from the Holden. It wasn't my best pull away but I got in front and we parted ways at the next intersection.
Thinking about it afterwards I felt quite stupid but also could not deny the rush of the moment.
I am a responsible rider, really I am. I wil not let myself be dragged into dragging again. soon.

Any other dragging stories out there?

  Dart Flyscreen fit 2014 CB1100?
Posted by: TINK_imp - 07-07-2014, 11:45 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (28)

Anyone tried fitting a DART flyscreen to a 2014 CB1100 yet? Will it fit around the new for 2014 gauge set, do you know?

I posed this question to DART last February as soon as I knew the 2014 CB1100 would be getting a new gauge set and revised headlamp mounting (25mm higher on the forks, I've read). At that time Stephen Sleddon of Dart Flyscreens Ltd wrote me back and said he had not fitted a 2014 yet and that I'd be the first to try.

Fast forward; I'm still waiting delivery of my 2014 CB1100 Deluxe but I've written a deposit check and she should be in my garage any day now. So I'm back on the hunt to find out if a DART flyscreen will fit a 2014 CB1100. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

  Let´s theorize: CB1100 turbo
Posted by: VTR1000F_imp - 07-07-2014, 08:47 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

So..who would be the first to build a nice small turbo kit for a CB? Wouldn´t it be nice and interesting? Have you ever had a turbo bike?

Coming from aircooled Volkswagen world, we build all kind of stuff, custom engine cases, CNC crankshafts, CNC heads, EFI, turbos, superchargers, everything engine related you can imagine..

  Nail in rear tire.
Posted by: meowguy_imp - 07-06-2014, 07:29 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (25)

Can this nail in my rear tire be safely repaired or must I replace the tire?

If it can be repaired , what do I need exactly.

Thanks for your help? Jim[Image: 6a5ecea4efa2671bc279c7f61e280e66.jpg]

  Fuel system error?
Posted by: Oboro_imp - 07-06-2014, 07:17 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (6)

Today I was riding around with one flashing bar for about 30 kms to get to the next gas station and then when I sat idling for a sec, the fuel gauge started flashing all five bars, I started riding and it went away. I fueled up only showed 4/5 bars for a sec and then all 5 were displayed correctly and all was well. Well I was most of the way home I came to a stop again and then bars started flashing again, started riding and again all went back to normal. Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks
Randall
