Fuel system error? - Oboro_imp - 07-06-2014 Today I was riding around with one flashing bar for about 30 kms to get to the next gas station and then when I sat idling for a sec, the fuel gauge started flashing all five bars, I started riding and it went away. I fueled up only showed 4/5 bars for a sec and then all 5 were displayed correctly and all was well. Well I was most of the way home I came to a stop again and then bars started flashing again, started riding and again all went back to normal. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks Randall RE: Fuel system error? - Oboro_imp - 07-06-2014 All seems in order now. Just took it for a short ride but I'll keep an eye on it and mention it to the dealer when I go for my tire change this week. RE: Fuel system error? - Lord Popgun - 07-06-2014 The float switch may have been sticking/hanging up. Don't forget, the fuel sloshes around too and as the float moves up and down, the bars will change. That's my thought anyway, FWIW RE: Fuel system error? - wayne van horn_imp - 07-06-2014 you might have a open circuit in the fuel level indicator system. RE: Fuel system error? - Oboro_imp - 07-06-2014 Noted. Thanks gentlemen! RE: Fuel system error? - Lord Popgun - 07-06-2014 Wayne has an idea. Oboro, have you had the tank off? If so, make sure the fuel pump connector is seated correctly. The connection wouldn't be open though, it would be intermittent. Other wise there would be a problem all the time. Not trying to be a D*** wayne, just saying is all. RE: Fuel system error? - Oboro_imp - 07-06-2014 I'm gonna be putting my power commander on there tomorrow so I will make sure everything is secure. Thanks again. |
