95 in these parts today. Broke out the evaporative vests, and neck towels. What do you do to stay cool in the heat when riding?

Just took a run out to the country to watch the sun go down on this fine evening. About 20 miles west of home. What a great way to wind down after a humid day of work and lawn mowing Having my better half along is a big bonus I thoroughly enjoy photos that include two of my very favorite things. Just after the horizon fully obscured the view of our most magnificent star, we found a great set of three sweeping curves on a smooth back road that allowed for full view of any traffic that might give cause for not breaking the centerline. This is uncommon in my area with so many trees and crumbling blacktop. It was a great little ride, and worth sharing, I feel.

Hi,

Has anybody dropped their forks by 5-10mm to steepen up the steering angle and maybe get a more nimble bike?

I do a lot of city commuting and would be interested in getting more manoeuvrability. Ive got the type pressures correct, slightly stiffer pre-load on front forks - its good but interested if anybody else has tried or experimented? Any loss of stability/wobbles or weaves introduced on high speed long curves?

Bike is rock solid with no steering flutter at the 40ish mph at moment.

I'll ask this here as it regards an "other" bike and it's not CB related.
I have a chance to pick up an early 2000s Sportster at a ridiculous price.
While I would probably pass on an H-D I have found the Ryca Cafe kits for the Sportster a good place to start for the only H-D that really excites me - the XR750.
The only issue is the only XR750 replica tanks I have found are a hand made aluminum job from Europe that costs 1600 Euros or an American made fiberglass unit.
The European tank costs more than the entire Ryca kit.
But would anyone want to risk a glass tank on a street bike? I'm surprised that it's even legal.

Recently spent the weekend in Deals Gap. Best riding ever, beautiful cambered turns, clean mountain air. Hyper awareness a must.

I may have to make a choice between my 2014 CB1100 std and a older low mileage ST1300.
Which one would you choose if you could only have one.
I'd like to have both, but I'm not sure I can swing it.

So I just received this today and it looks like it should just be a straight bolt on piece but there is instructions in Japanese with various pictured parts circled. Is there any special considerations installing this part?

I know I've seen a post on the same subject, but can't find it. I have a 30" inseam and found the stock seat too narrow and too low in front, designed to accommodate shorter riders. It may feel okay in the showroom, but it's too narrow to distribute my weight.
The seat-to-peg distance also caused more bend in my knees and hips than I wanted, and I didn't want to lower the pegs.

So, I took my stock seat to my upholsterer, who added some width and height to the stock foam in front only. He extended the sides of the stock cover in the front half so he would have plenty of material to staple, but that material is on the underside - all you see is the stock cover, with the Honda logo in back intact! All for only $75! (And it can be reversed with no damage if you don't like it)

That extra inch in front is just enough to unkink my knees and hips, and the slight additional width distributes the load better. That added to my 919 handlebars makes a perfect sport touring riding position.

Not sure it's for you? Try folding a bath towel up so it's an inch thick and ride a round a little bit.
