Looking for something that mounts on level with the seat so I could lay a large duffle, dry bag or back pack along the passenger seat and rack. Bungies. Done.

I never got any pics of tall cozy seat installed, so I just ordered one any way. Here are some pics at different angles for those of you interested. I also have the ventura sport rack / grab handle system on the bike also.

Ya'll,

Just before I took off on a morning ride I took a shot of my CB decked out with everything but my Hepco Becker Bags. (See second shot with...) I've had my 1100 for almost a year now. It has 4600 miles on her. She has carried me to the GA MT Rally in May and a BMW Rally in the mountains of NC in June (1100 miles on that trip almost exactly - how strange is that!) Set up the way I have mine it is truly a "do everything - except off road" bike. As you can see I changed the windshield to a National Cycle from my Slipstreamer. I like it much better. My bags work great. The seat is fantastic - Russell Day Long. Everywhere I've been this year I draw a crowd. Or the bike does anyway. A riding friend of mine told me after he rode my bike he was afraid most people would over look it because it not the "flashy" kind of bike that most people are looking for. A great "sleeper" motorcycle... Well, all I can say is every time I see an ad for another bike or see one on the street my first question is: Would it be better than my CB? NO, even at twice the price I paid for mine.
I'm a happy man. AND IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE PLATFORM AND HOW YOU SET IT UP.

Ok, been thinking about this. Thought it would be neat to have a place where EVERYONE can post a picture of THEIR bike and list the mods they have done, or plan to do. But here are the rules:

You can only post 1 (ONE) pic of your bike. If you take a pic you'd rather have people see, after posting one pic, maybe one that shows your mods better, you can edit your post and replace the original pic, but please 1 (one) pic only.

Feel free to LIST THE MODS YOU HAVE DONE so people can spot them and duplicate them on their bike if they wish.

Feel free to ask where to get mods/acc and/or tell people where they can get the mods/acc.

Mods: Rubber lever end thingies (Honda), Pro Grip 719 Gel grips (local shop), aluminum valve stem caps (Harbor Freight), Battery Tender Jr Pigtail (local shop), Rubber fork Boots off W 650 Kawasaki (local Kawasaki shop), Helmet Guardian dual helmet holder (ordered online through Helmet Guardian), removed "curb feelers" on bottom of stock pegs, removed tank decals.

Things I want to do yet.. get chrome instrument cup covers, replace left hand switch assy, paint headlight bucket red.

I ordered a K&H solo seat in late May. It shipped from Mr. T three days ago and arrived today!

The ride position, while 17mm lower than my K&H High, is still very comfortable. Workmanship is typical K&H – super high quality.

There must be something about a solo seat and a sportier riding position. On my two hour ride I routinely scraped my boots in most corners. 







When I got back home, my wife informed me she was ready to resume being a passenger after a 7 week hiatus due to surgery. So tomorrow the bench seat, sissy bar and rear carrier go back on. Good thing I’m getting pretty adept at putting on and taking off the rear carrier. I have a feeling I’ll be doing it often.

I bought my CB1100 EX 2014 a month ago after having HD for like 7 years. Got used to it on my daily city routes. Today I rode my Sportster just to see the difference and then Honda. My God! what a huge difference. I thought something is wrong with HD. It doesn't turn nor brake. It shakes and makes a lot of noise. Now I'm sure I'll get rid of it.

Just sharing my experience since I'm just overwhelmed with CB. Love it.
What was your experince old vs new bike?

My family and I were invited to a friend's place out in the country for their now annual Fourth of July bike bash. Basically just a bunch of folks having a good time riding a bunch of bikes around in the dirt. Riding dirt bikes is generally fun, and today was no exception. However, I barely spent any time on a bike.

Instead I watched my son get his first taste of motorcycling. I could easily see his grin stretch from ear to ear underneath the borrowed helmet that he was wearing. He learned to work a clutch for the first time ever as well as how to shift gears (which will come in handy when he begins learning to drive my car later this year). There was an accidental wheelie, but no crashes, so his mom was happy.

I knew when he asked if it would be alright for him to ride the bike again later on in the afternoon that he had really enjoyed the experience. As my son was circling around us, my friend commented that as a kid, that first experience on a motorcycle was one of the greatest feelings in the world. I agreed — in many ways, it still is. But watching my son experience that feeling for the first time was something altogether new and exciting in it's own special way.

One of the complaints with the Road Comet I was the gap in the headlight opening which allowed an annoying amount of light from the headlight to illuminate the inside of the fairing at night.

Chic Beck came up with an inexpensive fix, sealing the area around the headlight housing to block that unwanted light.

I just got a RC II. The well of the headlight openning is a good 1 inch deeper and actually forms a seal against the headlight, blocking any light.

Here is a picture showing the difference. Note that both the RC 1 and RC 2 are nearly identical in size, but the picture's perspective makes the closer RCII look bigger.



Hats off to Chic Design for fixing this issue. I'm curious if they have modified the RC I as well.

I don't live in Miami, but in the past few decades Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Palm Beach have all merged into a giant megapolis. Surface streets feature optional traffic signals, "Q-Tip" old ^%$&s who can't see much beyond the hood of their cars, and soccer moms in gigantic SUVs that they hope will armor them and their precious younglings against...other soccer moms and Q-Tips.

Adding to the mix are a stunning number of recent immigrants who have as much cultural orientation to be effective and safe drivers on US roads as John Carpenter had for Martian life when he arrived on Barsoom.

I'm not complaining. The first time I took a business trip to NYC my boss was concerned about how I'd handle driving in the Big City. Hah...it was a walk in the park after the Palmetto Expressway at rush hour. That's where a turn signal is a spoor to let the other drivers know to speed up and cut you off. Flip a bird? You'd better be packing...

Sure, I'd love to ride endless country roads with long sweepers and tight twisties. But would it get the blood boiling like dodging coke-crazed construction workers doing 90+ in their Chevy work vans trying to make the free buffet at Diamond Dolls Cabaret? I doubt it.
