  Looking For Wildflowers
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 10-16-2014, 07:58 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (9)

The weather was beautiful this morning, clear blue sky and delightfully cool, perfect for a ride around our county to look for fall flowers. We went north from home first toward K'ville then west and north along the Scuffletown Road toward Alma. The flowers are scarce this year because of a late summer drought but we manage to find a few small patches. Next we head south toward Blackshear on GA203 which meanders through fields of peanuts and cotton ready for harvest. Long gentle curves make this part of the ride especially relaxing. In Blackshear we stop for burgers at a diner then head south on Ga121 heading to Hoboken. We take a turn east a little later to connect up with the Snake Road, so named for it's many curves (many curves by south Georgia standards anyway), heading toward home. It was a splendid day.

  Average CB1100 stubbornness level?
Posted by: HikerToo_imp - 10-16-2014, 04:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Being above 50 years old myself, and reading posts on this forum for over a year, I have noticed many of our members seem to be fairly stubborn :-)
Most people post their idea, good or bad, right or wrong and stick with it, because that's how they've done it their entire life, so it must be right, an I'm not changing attitude.
So even though some topics cause much debate, on "any" forum, on this forum it's even more so.....but in a good way, could be less actual "debate" because very few of us over 50 are going to change our minds anyway Beer

  Cover options for winter storage?
Posted by: Barkingshins_imp - 10-16-2014, 02:28 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (19)

It's mid-October and, for most of us riders in the upper Midwest, that means the end of the riding season is weeks away at-best. As such, I've started to give some thought to how I want to store my '14 DLX for the winter. I've downloaded and printed Honda's "Winter Storage Guide" and plan to follow it to the letter but I have one question about a cover.

Honda specifically doesn't recommend tarps or sheets as they "trap and hold moisture against your vehicle, promoting rust and mildew". They recommend a "specially designed, breathable cover". My dealer did a search for me and apparently Honda doesn't have a cover available that is specific to the CB's so I'm wondering what others are using and have been happy with.

My CB will be stored out of the elements in an unheated garage for the winter.

Thank you for any suggestions.

  Turn signals at night
Posted by: brougham79_imp - 10-16-2014, 01:48 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

This may seem like a crazy question, but after replacing my battery on the side of the road yesterday, I noticed my turn signals being brighter than usual (and on). Additionally, it was my first time riding the cb at night. Is this normal for the turn signals to be running and brighter at night?

Posted by: Stealth128_imp - 10-15-2014, 01:37 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (13)

Just kidding! I did Purchase a Royal Enfield what a trip very 1940 somthing. Fuel injection works perfect on this bike actually surprised with the performance so far much more power then I expected. Kinda like driving a tank certainly is all steel.

Another old school bike for my collection.
