Turn signals at night - brougham79_imp - 10-16-2014 This may seem like a crazy question, but after replacing my battery on the side of the road yesterday, I noticed my turn signals being brighter than usual (and on). Additionally, it was my first time riding the cb at night. Is this normal for the turn signals to be running and brighter at night? RE: Turn signals at night - the Ferret - 10-16-2014 Front turn signals should burn any time ignition is on as they are also running lights, rear will burn only when turn signals are activated. How old was your battery? For the first year I believe it is covered under warranty. RE: Turn signals at night - emptysea - 10-16-2014 The turn signals are not brighter at night. I don't know a lot about such things, but I wonder if whatever killed your battery contributed to the signal lights appearing dimmer before the battery was swapped. RE: Turn signals at night - brougham79_imp - 10-16-2014 The dealership I brought the bike from said the bat was new, but it probably was from the previous owner. The bike is out of warranty by a couple of months. I didn't know the turn signals were running lights...thanks for the info guys! As Ferret noted, the front signals (front only) act as running lights and they are on anytime the headlight and tail light are on. The rear signals should be dark unless they are signalling a turn. You can't really tell that the front lights are illuminated during the daytime (from the riding position), unless you're looking real close. As for brightness, I think most lights on the bike will seem brighter at night if you've only seen them during the day. I don't think you have anything to worry about. |
