K&H Solo Seat for 2014 DLX
Posted by: CB4ME_imp - 10-28-2014, 11:58 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

As Mr. T says, the K&H solo seat is FINALLY available for the 2014 DLX.

http://www.samurider.com/?p=21826/#itemImage

Like all K&H seats, they feel firm and require a bit of break-in, but once broken in you can ride for hours in style and comfort.

  Tuesday morning scoot
Posted by: the Ferret - 10-28-2014, 05:09 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (15)

My wife and I had a pair of Yamaha Majesty scooters we would ride together. Nice scooters. Automatic of course. 400cc singles, belt drive disc brakes. When I decided to trade in my 13 CB for a 14 DLX I used my scooter as part of the trade in. My wife hadn't ridden hers much and no sense keep two of them.

So that left hers in the garage. Like I said after a hip and 2 knee replacements it wasn't being ridden much, but she didn't want to get rid of it quite yet, so I have been riding it. I try and ride it at least once a week. It has become my errand vehicle.

Sunday I led 2 guys from Columbus on a 230 mile ride on the ST. Monday I led salesman Steve and his friend on 165 mile ride on my CB. This morning I rolled out the Majesty for a little solo ride. The weather terrorists were saying 90% chance of rain, but the sky looked good, so I took off to run some curves and chase some fall colors. It was a good ride. About 60 miles, being a mid week day there was little traffic, and the scooter was a joy to ride.

Some pics from this mornings ride

  Naked or Faring
Posted by: Rhodie_imp - 10-27-2014, 02:01 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (41)

I'm in two minds to put a fairing on my 2013 CB11. I kinda like the naked look but freeway riding you kinda need something to cut the wind. Any ideas and what are you guys doing out there??

I've seen a '13 CB parked on the street about a block from where I live (in downtown Frederick, MD) several days in a row now. Thought I'd see if it belonged to anyone on here.

Oct 27 ride with salesman Steve
Posted by: the Ferret - 10-27-2014, 07:04 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (7)

One of the salesmen down at my local shop has been begging me to take him for a ride and show him some roads. He is off on Mondays so I agreed to meet him at the shop this morning and show him some. He asked if it was alright to bring his buddy Chris and I said ok. (ends up I've known Chris for 40 years and sold him bikes back in the 70's and 80's when I worked at some shops). I called my brother to join us as well. My brother and I (we have helmet intercoms) would either lead or follow as circumstances dictated and sandwich those guys in between us to try and keep some control since Steve and Chris were new to our riding party.

Of course I arrived first. Sat there and had a cup of tea waiting on the rest...

but then my brother came (still on time). Salesman Steve was late but only a few minutes (better 10 minutes early than 1 minute late Steve!). I figured Chris wasn't coming but he eventually showed as well. My CB, Steve's ZRX 1200, Chris's CBR 1000, and an FZ-1. Weather was perfect, and the fall colors are still resplendent!

We headed to some really good roads I know of in the next couple of counties over. One is called St Rt 247 and it's a doozie! 3 sections..1st a real roller coaster ride 2nd a mildly curvy ride, 3rd a vicious curvy ride. It runs from Hillsboro Ohio clear down to the Ohio river. Great road!

a stop at Rockin' Robins Soda Shop in Ripley, Ohio for lunch ( I had the Elvis Club sandwich with crinkle cut fries and a root beer ) listening to Crème and Donovan on the radio

the ride ended for my brother and me at my place, Steve and Chris headed home from here.
