  Larger tank on 2013 model?
Posted by: dennylee11_imp - 11-13-2014, 10:16 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (21)

I have a great 2013 model and may, in a year or so, put a Hannigan Sprint sidecar on. Will the larger tank from a 2014 model fit with no mods? Is there a 5 gallon tank available anywhere - Japan?
This bike would make an excellent tug for a sidecar rig - except for the small tank. Thoughts? Suggestions?

  Power Connection Help
Posted by: emptysea - 11-12-2014, 08:46 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

I swear that I recently saw a photo in this forum of an accessory power connection that exists on the CB1100. I recall the post saying that it was probably there for heated grips, but that they were going to use it for some other application. My bike is in the shop so I cannot look at it and I searched any keyword I could think of and could not come up with it. My recollection is that the power connection was a red cable, but I could be wrong on that. Anyone else know what the devil I'm talking about? Or was I hallucinating??

2013 STD seat vs. 2014 DLX seat
Posted by: VTR1000F_imp - 11-12-2014, 07:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

Sorry for bringing this up again. I´m sure it had been discussed but many new DLX owners here. I have a 2013 STD with some comfort upgrades such as tamer throttle tube, small alu fairing and pilion bar, some performance upgrades as a fulll Moriwaki dual silencer system and Power Commander and some purely visual upgrade such as RLETs.

The bike is now in excellent lovely condition and I love to ride it, but I´m still not comfortable with stock seat. Today I visited a dealer who let me sit on new DLX bike with its stitched retro seat. My first impression that althoug it looks great, it is the same stiff seat as my STD seat. I love the looks of it and I would upgrade just for looks, but I expected it to be more comfortable too.

PLease who upgraded from 2013 to 2014, what is your opinion?

I travelled some distances on my old CX 500 and it is much more comfortable for 100 miles and up rides...

  TURN SIGNALS
Posted by: JohnLM_imp - 11-11-2014, 09:58 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (7)

Has anybody attempted to change the turn signals to a more streamlined set or anything different from the stock ones ? I took off one of the rear ones to look at mounting points and other factors and its not going to be a walk in the park . The front signal mounts are even more of a challenge with that deep hole you have to deal with !
