TURN SIGNALS - JohnLM_imp - 11-11-2014

Has anybody attempted to change the turn signals to a more streamlined set or anything different from the stock ones ? I took off one of the rear ones to look at mounting points and other factors and its not going to be a walk in the park . The front signal mounts are even more of a challenge with that deep hole you have to deal with !

Those look really nice , how did you get the nut tightened on the front ones ?

I've seen that how to . If I was replacing stock signals it would be helpful . Most of the aftermarket signals are mounted differently with a nut , not an allen head bolt . They will be a lot harder to reach up front .

I purchased the Lockhart signals and I ran them thru the headlight bracket holes that hold the headlight bucket. The turn signals are now my headlight bucket bolts and I like the look.

The Lockhart-Phillips aluminum turn signals are really nice, they look stock but are much smaller and trimmer than the stock units. They attach in a completely different way than the Honda signals. The front center hole must be drilled a bit larger and then use wide stainless fender washers both on the inside and outside of the front signal mounting points. The rear signal attach points do not require any drilling but again you will need to sandwich the mounting points between two fender washers to provide a solid, flat, and centered passageway to pass the signal stalk through and then tighten the bolt to secure it. The front is tricky as getting to everything is like building a ship in a bottle but if you work patiently it can be done.

These signals use the same bulb as the stock units and are every bit as bright when activated. Many members pull the wiring all the way back to the connector. I prefer to leave the wiring routing alone and I cut and splice the wires using proper connectors. I used a trimmer tail light as well. Cheers.
