  Exhausting Decison
Posted by: emptysea - 11-04-2014, 11:17 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (51)

My son dropped my bike and damaged a few pieces, including the muffler. I am debating on whether to replace it with a stock muffler or to try something different. I'd love your opinion on what I should do. Incidentally, he wound up with a bruised an sprained ankle, another real world testimony that it's not a great idea to ride with inferior footwear.

But it's a good thing. I'm hoping my lightly cafe'd 1978 Yamaha Triple is going to be roadworthy by Bikenight this Thursday. Then I'll be able to ride it while younger sons CB will be out of commission for a bit.
Plan is to send the ECU to Guth for the reflash, and during the wait, fit the oem chrome engine guards and the new Ikon rear shocks.
Really looking forward to the reflash Wink

  Dodgy Kill Switch
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 11-04-2014, 01:09 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (25)

While riding home today I momentarily released the throttle as I slowed for a stop. My index finger brushed the kill switch lightly and the motor quit. I checked the switch and it was in the on position. I switched off the ignition, then back on. No lights on the panel. I then switched the kill switch to off and then on, all lights back on and the motor started. I then brushed the kill switch again lightly with a finger tip and the motor cut off. Resetting the switch got things going again and I was on my way. Anyone noticed this on their CB before?

Personally I've never felt the need for these devices in the first place and in 50 years of riding have never had the need of one.

Posted by: mgoodie_imp - 11-04-2014, 11:19 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (11)

Has anyone put clubman handlebars on their bike have a problem with the controls hitting the tank with bars turned full? I just put some on its a very tight fit and I'm going to need to changes cables as the throttle is a little sticky and just too long now. But biggest problem is the controls hit the tank. does anyone have a fix for this?

  Valencia - *** SPOILER ALERT ***

Marquez has a chance to set the wins-per-season record. Suzuki debuts its new MotoGP bike.

Twelve points separate Rossi (275) and Lorenzo (263) for second place. A 1st and 4th, 2nd and 8th, or 3rd and 12th would result in a points tie. Does anyone know who has the highest number of race wins in 2014, Rossi or Lorenzo?
