Very interesting

Yes interesting. Ratio of race crashes to qual/practice crashes especially so.

Cheers

I always wonder how bad a crash has to be before the bike is "totaled," and how many different complete bikes the teams travel with. Also, how crashes factor into the 5-engine limit for the season (e.g., if the engine revs to 15,000 rpm upside down and starves bearings for oil, does that mean one of their engines is "gone," or are they allowed to repair them? Maybe that's a bad example...maybe they have inverted oil systems.)

One interesting fact was that everyone in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 suffered a crash during the season - during practice, qualifying or racing. I guess if you aren't crashing, you aren't testing the limit.
