Dear omniscient forum,

are there any numbers out there, how many CB1100 have been built so far? Worldwide and per market?

A year ago I read of a maneuver developed in England I believe, for motorcyclists to make themselves visible in 2 specific instances, which are a couple of the top reasons for motorcycle accidents.

#1: A car pulling out from the side, as in pulling out of a side street or driveway

#2: A car approaching from the opposite direction. with the intention of turning left in front of you.

I have been practicing this maneuver for the last year, and although I have no "proof" that it has been effective, other than I catch drivers staring at me after doing it, it seems to me as if it might have some merit.

What happens is when I see a car getting ready to turn left in front of me or pull out from a side street I start a tight quick weave in my lane (while still covering my brakes and clutch just in case) . The theory behind it is that rather than the tiny white dot of a steady headlight, which is tough to judge approaching speed on, the headlight bobs and weaves drawing the other driver's attention. I even did this to an Ohio Highway Patrolman one day about to turn left in front of me. He stopped. I wish I had turned around and chased him down to see if it made any difference to him, as he may have seen me anyway before the weave, but I didn't think of it fast enough. I will get the chance to question an LEO someday (probably in the backseat of his car as he's writing me up for reckless op lol )

Anyhow with the recent reports here on the site, I thought I would mention it, in case anyone else wanted to experiment. BY all means if you don't feel comfortable doing it, DON'T, and if I get a chance to talk to someone I have pulled the maneuver on I will let you know what they say.

does anyone know anything about bmw gtl 1600 found a 2012 with 5000 miles

I recently put the cb on the centerstand. It slightly and I mean very slightly leans toward the side because the concrete ground is ever so slightly sinks toward the center of the garage.

Should I be concerned about the bike falling over and how secure is the centerstand vs sidestand?

Pretty nice if you can get past the styling

Oh and according to this, if our CB's held .1 more gas (.9 for you 13 owners) it would be a "large" tank, instead of a barely adequate tank lol

hello everyone. I just received my remus powercone slip-on exhaust. It is stainless steel, has a removable db killer, and has a welded bracket on the mid pipe for the center stand to rest against. It took about 10 minutes to remove stock muffler and install the remus. First impressions, the exhaust is high quality, heavy stainless steel. The sound with the baffle in is deep bassy but almost as quiet as stock. With the baffle out, it sounds like a supersport race bike, the idle is deep but not obnoxiously loud. When you apply the throttle on acceleration it is progressively louder. When you reach you desired speed it quiets down to a low rumble, apply throttle and it roars. It seems to have a little more pep even at low speeds, as I accidently did a small wheelie in first when slamming the throttle. I will make a sound video some time Tuesday or Wednesday as I have a friend at work who knows how to do that sort of thing. The remus powercone was not cheap as it was almost as expensive as the staintune. It was $735 by the time the shipping and tax and all. I waited almost 2 months to receive it. I almost bought the staintune, but I wanted a removable baffle so I could choose how loud or quiet I wanted the pipe. The baffle just slips right in and put circlip in, it takes about 30 seconds to remove or put back in. I thought people may be interested in exhaust choices so I took a gamble and bought the remus. I am very glad I did. It makes the bike more fun to ride.

Are those of you that have this windshield, satisfied with it? Having the adjustable angle seems to be a good choice. Thanks.
