Removing throttle cable from throttle tube?

Thanks Wired. I think the first part of your post got cut off, but I get the idea. I am installing Oxford heated grips and that part is pretty straightforward, but I figured while I was in there I would fiddle with the cables. Mistake. And then the sun went down and it got really fricking cold and I came inside to study the shop manual. Worthless, as you pointed out.
I soooo don't want to pull the tank, but if I have to, so be it. Maybe in the Spring. Late Spring.
BTW, I went to Southwest Texas State (back when it was still SWT) and spent many weekends driving around your general neighborhood looking for good music and cold beer. Found both in abundance. I miss Texas. And any road that starts with FM.
