I just purchased a new CB1100 Deluxe used with 300 miles from down in Arkansas. It is in awesome shape but has a small issue with the LCD instrument cover between the gauges. It appears that the previous owner must have pressure washed the bike prior to the sale and some soap ran down behind instrument plastic cover window. It has left streaks and spots inside the display cover. I took it to my dealer and they took a photo and sent it to Honda for a possible warranty repair. Honda determined that it was pressure washer damage (beware pressure washers!) and it won't be covered. My dealer said the cover panel can be replaced along with their labor. I'm fairly handy with repairs but the online parts diagrams don't really give a clear indication of how I could remove the cover panel. Do any of you know if the maintenance guide for this bike detail the removal process? I'm hoping I can remove the cover and attempt a clean up of the streaking. Thanks! This really is a great forum

I love these adjustable mirrors from Hakofugu! Those guys really have a great design sense.

I had tried the Bikemasters mirrors, but they lacked adjustability. I wanted a low-profile design to further clean up the lines on my CB, but when in the lower position, I could not see anything behind me. I just couldn't get the proper angle.

Not an issue with the Hakofugus - I can place them in their lowest position and still be able to see behind me - and they look fantastic! The way the arms curve in is sweet - they really integrate well into the bike.

The headlight ring on my CB has started to rattle. I have checked all of the mounting bolts and they are tight. Anyone else have the same problem?

Yes, I could just read the manual, or even search, but how does reserve fuel work on the CB? Is it just a blinking low fuel light? Anything besides that?

I just don't see the ability to shift the fuel selector to reserve like the bikes of yesteryear, thanks.

Went down to a local Honda Kawasaki shop I worked at for 7 years and ordered up some standard maintenance items for the CB and my ST.

I ordered air cleaners for both bikes, brake pads for all 4 wheels, 1/2 dozen oil filters, 4 spark plugs for the CB, 2 gallons of GN4 engine oil, a bottle of Hypoid gear oil for the ST's rear end, 2 muffler bands for the ST, a can of chain lube for the CB, and a Motion Pro spark plug wrench as recommended by another forum member for the CB.

Figured I would spend about $400, but the total bill came to $730.00 plus $34 tax.

YEE GADS!

Would any of you gentlemen know the names of the (3) colors on a "Black" cb1100, I think the red is Alzerian Red, the black is Graphite black, but unable to get a name or paint code from dealer for the Grey. Honda dealer was unable to give me paint codes ? The two I came up with are from the web, but want to make sure. I was back at my bike shop the other day for a problem with my scooter, and decided to discuss tire and wheel options for my CB1100. Given the problem of getting replacement tires with tubes for the wire wheels on my EX, we investigated a company that can provide a solution to make the wheels work for tubeless tires.

Got the reply today, and they told me that because of the the steel rims on my wheels, there is nothing they can do on them. Instead the propose to replace the steel rims with some aluminium ones, and then rebuilding with the spokes and original hubs. The cost for both would be something like $1'600.

Well, I think given that, I might instead go for some Kineo wheels and possibly sell the standard wire wheels and come to about the same cost. However, if I do this, then it will be in the fall, so we shall see what will happen.

The thing is, going with the Kineo wheels makes me want to do a number of other changes so as to make a proper neo-retro café racer. This could become interesting... Expensive, but interesting!

Every year the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation organizes a cross country trip in Portugal, that transverses the country from north to south. The basic rule is to only use secondary roads.

It is usually a two day event, and covers about 1000 km.

I didn't get the chance of making it this year, but will certainly try to take the cb on tour in 2016.

I think it is a great way to see the country, specially for those who love riding. Here's a video of the 2014 edition:

Wonderful riding from Rome, weather was hot but views are beautiful.

Taking advantage of the fact that I'm on holiday this week, I figured Tuesday morning would be a great day to visit Cabo da Roca, which is the westernmost point of continental Europe.

It is a usual biker hangout on Sunday mornings, but, unfortunately, that draws out young men who feel they must make the surrounding roads their personal race track.

So, Tuesday is a great day to visit.
