  Aftermarket parts sites
Posted by: Bheezy27403_imp - 09-12-2015, 10:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Now that I've put a few miles on I can see that a new seat is needed, a small back rest for the wife, I would like a fly screen of some sort and prolly a tail rack. I have seen a couple aftermarket stores and I know about some of the general ones (Bike Bandit/Revzilla, etc.). Where do you guys shop for farkles? Are there any good CB 1100 specific websites worth checking out?

How often should I lube the chain?
Posted by: goldeneye_imp - 09-12-2015, 09:55 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (22)

I'm still a little new here, so please correct me if I'm in the wrong sub-forum.

Like the title says, how often should I lube the chain? I don't see anything in the manual, so please help a newbie out.

ETA: What kind of lube do you use?

Thanks

What distinguishes an ABS bike vs. Non?
Posted by: Inhouse Bob - 09-12-2015, 06:53 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

Sorry if this has been covered, but searches turn up so much that I can't weed through it.
In short, what does one look for to distinguish an ABS equipped CB 1100 from one that is without? What physical traits are visible?
Also, has anyone seen my shop manual?? I know it's around here somewhere. Dang.

  Two Brothers Titanium
Posted by: Brookland27_imp - 09-12-2015, 01:12 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

Got my Two Brothers exhaust on yesterday. I like the way it looks and sounds. I find the black and titanium plays rather nice with the Brushed aluminum black look the CB has going on. I really have never been a fan of really blingy chrome/ polished stainless or matte black so i am pleased with this. I am still under 600 miles so will wait to open the bike up until i can change the oil so performance improvement realization will have to wait. I can say it sounds very nice and i don't find it too loud. At first how small the can was threw me off but that may be because i went from a stock unit which i find a bit oversized. Interestingly when i took off the stock unit i found the way the stock can was dented in the rear to allow for the shock mount clearance on the rear a bit off puting considering the thought put into the finish of the rest of the bike? The fit and finish of the 2 bros is wonderful and i believe they are discontinued so you can get one for under 400. I know alot of people arent into the looks of this exhaust and i didn't post this to hear about that. I posted so people considering it can get a nice HD image of the bike with it fitted as i didn't have much luck finding a titanium can i could look at before my purchase. I will update on performance when i get to really give it some juice. This unit also has a center stand stop welded on nicely to the connecting pipe which works nicely. Ride on Gents.

  Supertrapp and K&N
Posted by: MFGUSA_imp - 09-12-2015, 12:08 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (14)

I've installed a K&N filter as well as the Supertrapp off my old FT500. After each subsequent install I could certainly feel a difference after the fuel injection figured it out. I'm very pleased with the sound and performance so now its time to spring for a new stainless Supertrapp.

...Unless you guys think the Black goes with the Stainless header better?

  Oiltemp,check engine and hiss light
Posted by: thomasdebess_imp - 09-11-2015, 03:25 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

Hello fellow CB Forum members.

I have had my bike for a few months and i already had a few issues on it..

First my battery died. fixed.

Then the Oiltemp, check engine and the HISS light came on during driving. it felt like the engine stoped while the warning lights was on and started again after they disaperd. This happend a few times before i could get off the highway. And suddenly there was no problem. i went straight back to the place i work to park it. probably 6-7 km and it happends 1 more time. same thing..

does anyone have a experianse with something like this?

i should mention that the only changes i have done to the bike sinse factory new, is i put on a Moriwaki megaphone full exhaust and Chick design handguards.

Thomas

San Marino MotoGP *** Spoiler Alert ****

A new racing surface provides lots of grip for all the riders. Lorenzo tops FP2 followed by Marquez.

This is the track that Rossi practices on a R1 throughout the year. However he wasn't completely happy with the track surface and finished 5th behind Pedrosa and Dovi. Rossi won last year and Marquez crashed out chasing him.

Coverage starts at 7:30am EDT on DirecTV channel 219 (Fox Sports 1).
