After days of fog and mist this morning started with clear skies and cool temperatures, just right for a ride on the River Road.

The Altamaha River starts at the confluence of the Okmulgee and Oconee rivers near Lumber City, GA and empties into the Atlantic near Darien. Our route takes us north through Odum where we find a giant Minion guarding a pasture.





We stop on the Hwy 121 bridge that spans the Altamaha. The River Road starts just north of the river valley and we will follow it to Lumber City.





Once on the River Road you notice that you cannot see the river. That's because of the wide, forested flood plain. A fine road all the same with plenty of sweeping curves and rolling hills.

Pamela and I stop for a roadside lunch at an old Methodist church.





North of Baxley we find this old farmhouse, shaded by an enormous Live Oak and long ago abandoned.









From here we soon cross US1, following the river west and cross US221 on the way to the River Road bridge crossing the Oconee River.





It's a short ride from the Oconee into Lumber City where we turn east on US341, cross the Okmulgee River and head for home. It was a beautiful ride with perfect weather, about 160 mies total.

I have been on my recent purchase of a 2013 CB 1100/ABS for about 2 months and 1000 miles. The rear tire, Dunlop Sportmaster 140/70-18 has a screw in it and needs to be replaced. The front is nearly new. I'm having trouble finding it. Any suggestions?

Got a PM from forum member Jimbo the other day wanting to know if we could get together for a ride. Sure, I love riding!. Plans were made and we met up this morning. Jimbo had to ride his pretty blue Gen 2 Yamaha FZ-1 as his son, with lust in his heart, absconded with Jimbo's CB.

We decided we would ride some curvy back roads that Jimbo likes to ride and I would follow. I thought I knew every road in this half of the state, but he knew some I had no clue existed.

we finally stopped for a bite to eat at a little mom and pop in Waynesville Ohio, Home of the Sauerkraut festival. He had a chicken sandwich and I had a pork sandwich. The waitress made the mistake of mentioning they had Peach Cobbler.. it was good!

One road we went on they were doing some patching. It held us up for a bit.

when they let us through it was a trip dodging the places where they had dug out to be repatches..some were in the right side of the lane, some in the left side of the lane, some in the center and some everywhere it seemed Gads.

Anyhow at one point Jimbo decided he needed to head toward home and so did I, so we pulled over said our goodbyes and we need to do this again's and split up.

Great day... Great motorcycles, outstanding weather, wonderful roads, tasty food and good company. Does it get any better? heck no! 144 miles for me today.

I am 37 and always loved classic bikes.
In my opinion the CB1100 means the perfect balance between history, heritage and modern technology. There simply can't be a better bike than this Honda. It's expensive but I have read many articles where engineers and designers explained that this bike has a level of craftsmanship and attention to details that you can't find on other bikes.
The engine is perfect, smooth and gentle. It just have the power it needs, and if you don't own one and have the chance to test it, you will fall in love with it. It happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I am tempted to buy it instead of a new car. I don't know what I will choose in the next months, but I am sure that this bike is a constant desire and a persistent presence in my mind.
Love this four cylinder and its style. Amazing!

Anyhow B's son Riley has loved motorcycles since he was born it seems. His favorites are Ducati's and Yamaha's, but he likes my Honda's as well as any motorcycles, and knows that Mark Marquez is World Champion on a Honda.

Well last night Riley became the 4th generation of riders in the family, and the youngest at age 3. And, it's a Yamaha lol. (PW 50). Need to pick up some training wheels for it, but if he is anything like my son who was too short for his first bike, he will find a concrete block, climb on the bike from the block, take off and if he gets off anywhere in their yard, he will push it back to the block to get on again.

I am looking at buying a Givi Monolock E450 top case as I would like to have a case that locks. I am using a Cortech soft bag now on my rack. My question has anyone installed a Givi universal mount on the 14 Deluxe OEM rack? I know the Monolock cases come with a universal plate. Anyhow thanks.
