Riding with Jimbo - the Ferret - 10-07-2015

Got a PM from forum member Jimbo the other day wanting to know if we could get together for a ride. Sure, I love riding!. Plans were made and we met up this morning. Jimbo had to ride his pretty blue Gen 2 Yamaha FZ-1 as his son, with lust in his heart, absconded with Jimbo's CB.

We decided we would ride some curvy back roads that Jimbo likes to ride and I would follow. I thought I knew every road in this half of the state, but he knew some I had no clue existed.

They went left

they went right

some times they went straight, made a U turn and went straight the other way...crazy

one of them even went to a covered bridge I didn't know about

we finally stopped for a bite to eat at a little mom and pop in Waynesville Ohio, Home of the Sauerkraut festival. He had a chicken sandwich and I had a pork sandwich. The waitress made the mistake of mentioning they had Peach Cobbler.. it was good!

with our belly's full we went out and rode some more

we went left some more

we went straight after coming out of a curve (check the rear view in the mirror)

One road we went on they were doing some patching. It held us up for a bit.

when they let us through it was a trip dodging the places where they had dug out to be repatches..some were in the right side of the lane, some in the left side of the lane, some in the center and some everywhere it seemed Gads.

Anyhow at one point Jimbo decided he needed to head toward home and so did I, so we pulled over said our goodbyes and we need to do this again's and split up.

Great day... Great motorcycles, outstanding weather, wonderful roads, tasty food and good company. Does it get any better? heck no! 144 miles for me today.

Jimbo thanks buddy, it was great meeting you. Next time...MY ROADS!

Sounds like a great day and maybe it's just me, but it seems like you're broadening your culinary horizons of late. Kudos to you (by the way "Kudos" is not some sort of Middle Eastern rice-like grain).

Smile

Ferret,
the pleasure was mine. Ditto to everything you said. You really do meet the nicest people on a Honda! Just say the word and I'll be heading south!

RE: Riding with Jimbo - Pterodactyl_imp - 10-07-2015

Looks like a good ride.

Cheers

RE: Riding with Jimbo - redbirds_imp - 10-07-2015

Love looking at those southern Ohio roads. Must get up that way sometime.

RE: Riding with Jimbo - Inhouse Bob - 10-07-2015

You tell a good story, Mr. Ferrett. Good job in the lead, Jimbo!

Sea.. It's just the people I have been riding with lately refuse to eat at my normal culinary hang outs. I have eaten in this town a dozen times, but never at this restaurant. Always at the McDonalds a block and a half down the road. Big Grin

Have to admit, McDonalds doesn't serve peach cobbler though Sad

Now that's a good way to while away a chunk of a day. Jimbo, I'm pleased you had another bike to ride. Under normal circumstances, taking a father's CB is grounds for disinheritance!

I agree Cormanus, he's wanting me to sell it to him and get the "family discount". I love my kids but asking a man to part with his CB 1100 might be taking it a little too far!
