  Eastern Germany Ride

This vid shows some streets in Thuringia in Eastern Germany, a clip from my Sommer Tour a few weeks ago.
You will see a covered bridge close to the end, witch is very rare over here.

  Tank Guards?
Posted by: DaSwami_imp - 10-22-2015, 04:31 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

CB1100ers,

One thing i love about the CB is the perfectly shaped and grippable tank, it adds so much to the handling and riding experience.

However....my 2014 black model, the paint seems to be somewhat prone to scratches/swirl marks, I can see them as plain as day in the sun from were I grip the tank with my knees...

Does anyone have a suggestion for tank guards? Like the Triumph Scrambler has, rubber/plastic guards that adhere to the tank to protect it from damage/wear from the legs when riding.

Thanks,

Scott

  Interesting Comments From Rossi
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 10-22-2015, 08:02 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (2)

Rossi is accusing Marquez of helping Lorenzo build a lead and so win the championship. It will be most interesting to see what develops at this next race.

Is Rossi serious or is this another of his tactics to psych out his opponents?

  2013s vs newer?
Posted by: MrGood_imp - 10-22-2015, 02:47 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (30)

So I've read the history/development page and see quite a few mentions of the "refinements" beginning on 2014 bikes. Can anyone elaborate on these, and is there a section here that list vendors and sources for aftermarket parts, etc?

  CB Sighting Thread
Posted by: capttwb136_imp - 10-21-2015, 08:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (73)

Hello, I belong to another forum that has a thread about sighting another BMW K1600. When I first joined the K1600 bikes were very rare to see on the road. Today while riding I spotted another CB1100, first time I've seen another one in my area. So I figure they are probably fairly rare.

So I wondered what you all thought about a "sighting" thread? I'll be the first to post. I saw a red CB1100 with a National Cycle Street shield on route 404 in Delaware between Bridgeville and Denton. Was it anyone from the forum?Beer

Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim
Posted by: the Ferret - 10-21-2015, 06:27 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (7)

My buddies Jnor and Jim Jim came down from central Ohio to play today. Jnor is my buddy I rode to Cali with last year and rides an FJR now. If you remember he had given up riding, but discovered he missed it too much and bought a used FJR to get back into it. Jim Jim rides a BMW R1200RT.Both of them are very good riders. I took them on two loops in northern Kentucky I know fairly well. Nothing but curves. One loop is mostly back and forth sweepers and most of the pics I'm posting came from that loop. This is the loop I took Empty Sea and his group on when they came down in 2013 I believe it was. The other is more technical, tighter turns, blind curves, blind rises. I don't care for it much and don't ride it often but both of them loved it. Can't hardly take pics on it, it requires 100% attention. That loop flat wears me out, but the sport bikers in the area wear a groove in it all summer on weekends. 208 miles (335kms) for me today. They will have many more by the time they get back home. Good company, great day of riding on awesome roads, unbelievable weather for end of October, great lunch and a ferry ride.

some pics from todays ride
