Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - the Ferret - 10-21-2015 My buddies Jnor and Jim Jim came down from central Ohio to play today. Jnor is my buddy I rode to Cali with last year and rides an FJR now. If you remember he had given up riding, but discovered he missed it too much and bought a used FJR to get back into it. Jim Jim rides a BMW R1200RT.Both of them are very good riders. I took them on two loops in northern Kentucky I know fairly well. Nothing but curves. One loop is mostly back and forth sweepers and most of the pics I'm posting came from that loop. This is the loop I took Empty Sea and his group on when they came down in 2013 I believe it was. The other is more technical, tighter turns, blind curves, blind rises. I don't care for it much and don't ride it often but both of them loved it. Can't hardly take pics on it, it requires 100% attention. That loop flat wears me out, but the sport bikers in the area wear a groove in it all summer on weekends. 208 miles (335kms) for me today. They will have many more by the time they get back home. Good company, great day of riding on awesome roads, unbelievable weather for end of October, great lunch and a ferry ride. some pics from todays ride [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20051_zps3hkegtfy.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20005_zpszzsm9xbu.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20025_zpsfqdjeh7k.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20033_zps4dcfwaeh.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20042_zpsk1tgdugk.jpg.html] ![]() [url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/Jnor%20and%20Jim%20Jim%20in%20KY%20055_zpshi5tcuib.jpg.html]
RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - redbirds_imp - 10-21-2015 Sounds like a fun ride ferret. RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - drodg33 - 10-21-2015 Looks fun. Ferret have you had a chance to ride that new R12RT? RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - the Ferret - 10-21-2015 No drodg, I'm afraid I'm a bit too short.

They have always required a little bit longer inseam! The ones I had required me to be on my tip toes. RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - the Ferret - 10-21-2015 Jim would probably let me ride it if I asked but I could tell standing beside it I could only reach on 1 side. Heck, I'm balls of feet on the CB. About 30" seat height is good for me. I think the CB is near 31". If I were 6" taller it would open up a whole nother class of motorcycles I could ride. All those cool adv bikes. It would be awesome, but alas nature has not blessed me with nice long legs. RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - Cormanus - 10-23-2015 ... or even not nice long legs, which would be just as useful for tall motorcycles! Nice pics as always Ferret. Looks like you have some great riding country near your home. RE: Riding the curves in Ky with Jnor and Jim Jim - the Ferret - 10-23-2015 Thanks Cormanus. i never tire of riding here. If I could somehow figure a way to get nice warm weather year round instead of 3 to 4 months of winter crap, it would just be an ideal place to live as a motorcyclist. |
