  Autumn in Slovenia
Posted by: Bosti - 10-31-2015, 04:08 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (13)

Hello fellow CB riders.

I thought you might be interested to see some autumn pictures from Slovenia. Today it was a sunny day, temperatures around 14 degrees C, not to warm but still a nice ride. I went on some hills near city Velenje. The road were a bit narrow but less traffic. It was a good day.

I just realised the cb is missing on the pictures. Upps. To correct this I will include a picture from a trip a week before. Th picture was taken with a view of Adriatic sea.

All the best

Three hundred miles of peace. quiet, and cold.
Posted by: Inhouse Bob - 10-30-2015, 04:09 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (15)

Actually, I rode 280 miles this morning, up to Skyline Drive and through a lot of the Shenandoah Valley and environs. Nice ride with only the mountaintop cold to challenge my serenity. Froze my butt up there! A couple of photos...

Photography isn't my thing, so the beauty is lost in the lens flare and such. But it was a beautiful day!

   CB1100 vs. its competition
Posted by: MrGood_imp - 10-29-2015, 10:25 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (40)

So, I'm speaking from a buyers perspective, and currently own a Star Raider which is for sale due to knee issues, so I'm finding a lighter bike. I dig the CB1100s most and that's my first choice, but I'd like to get honest opinions on other comparable bike, such as a Bonneville possibly, etc. I want a bike in the 5-600lb range, upright and relaxed riding position, not high-centered, and fuel injected ideally, ABS even better, and $6500 or less, used of course. I'm 6'2, 230lbs. I had a 99ZRX1100 before and would consider one again since its breadloaf seat and ride was comfy, I just don't know what other bikes that fall between the two.

  My CB was bumped
Posted by: Django - 10-29-2015, 07:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

My neighbor rang me up this morning, as he had bumped my CB from behind with his car in our underground car park and she went down to the concrete on her right side. [Image: 255fabcfd61768d87e161c73dad6c3f4.gif]

He had put her already up again, as fuel was running out the tank.

Well, there seems to be only minor damage, but it still deserves a closer look. The soft saddle bag, already packed for my today planned trip, and the wind shield took the main impact.

The wind shield has some scratches and must be remounted. The mounting seems to be snapped out, but hopefully can be fixed easily, so I can do my weekend trip. Without shield that would be hard.

The clocks seem to be okay. Hopefully the handle bar is not bend. I can only see some small scratches at the right end of the handle bar and the right front turn signal is a little bit broken, but can still be used.

  Interesting fact about Indian Scout
Posted by: the Ferret - 10-29-2015, 12:09 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (14)

New Rider magazine came today. Featured the new Indian Scout among others. What I found interesting about the report was the dyno charts/ results.

The horsepower and torque curves of the Scout very nearly mirrors our CB 1100s. Very linear power curves resulting in 85.2 HP@ 7800 rpms and 64.4 ft lbs of torque @ 5900.

I would think that would be a very fun bike to ride, since the CB is such a joy to ride.

Interesting, no?

For those who like to wave
Posted by: LongRanger_imp - 10-29-2015, 11:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (65)

When I'm on the road, I'll usually wave at oncoming motorcyclists, just to express some camaraderie. No big deal if they don't wave back -- I don't always reciprocate myself.

But here's what I've noticed: When I'm riding one of my BMW's, almost everyone will wave back, regardless of the bike they're riding. It's all very cordial.

When I'm riding the CB, however, very few riders will wave back, and BMW riders will absolutely not wave back. I think it's really strange. Is the CB not wave-worthy? Anyone else experience this?

  2016 CB 1100 Rally
Posted by: Chapomis_imp - 10-29-2015, 07:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

I haven't been on the Forum much lately so I may have missed some things and I don't mean this to be a official Rally thread, but has there been any talk about a date for 2016 ? This year was May 28 thru 31 which was the weekend after Memorial Day w/e. In 2016 Memorial Day w/e falls on the 30th of May. Would it be wise to talk about doing it on Mem w/e, 26 thru 29 as its a long weekend and easier for members to attend ? or better to do it the week before to avoid traffic issues ? Maybe we could start a poll ?

  Luggage rack
Posted by: capttwb136_imp - 10-29-2015, 12:38 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (12)

Really fast shipping! Very reasonable prices. I ordered a luggage rack from Samurider.com, they shipped it October 26, it arrived at our house yesterday! Two days from Japan. Is that fast or what. I wish I could read Japanese, it was packed in bubble wrap and a Japanese newspaper. The instructions are in Japanese too :-(. Luckily it does not appear to be complicated to install.Thumbs Up
