  Riding Gear Storage
Posted by: Frulk_imp - 01-23-2016, 09:57 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (13)

Last fall the wife and I worked on the garage painting it and getting some new cabinetry. One of the cabinets was specifically for riding gear. This Husky Cabinet came from Home Deport and seems to be the right amount of space for what I need for my riding gear. Be aware that one of the major gripes with this product is that because of it's sheer size a fair amount of them are damaged in shipment. Best to look at it in store and go through the trouble of hauling them home.

Inside. The cabinet is pretty deep so there is good space available on all the shelves. The way the clothes pole is mounted could be better and I might tackle that in 30 minutes with a drill once the temps come up a little bit. I like the fact I now have all my gear in one place without having to look through several plastic bins to get what I'm looking for

If you want your silver sidecovers painted...
Posted by: Olyrider - 01-23-2016, 09:41 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Last week, I bought a bunch of farkles from Matthias that he removed from his "13 CB that is for sale.

I now have a black Road Comet, black front/rear fenders and silver side covers. I'm going to take them all to ScrewyDesigns.com and have them painted the correct '13 Red color. I'm buying the paint & base coat so I'll have a little left over.

If you would like your side covers professionally painted and clear-coated, he is guessing $60.

He hasn't seen the side covers yet.

USPS shipping should be pretty inexpensive. I can deliver them to him and mail them back to you for whatever it costs.

Let me know.

Paul

  Wildflower Ride to Death Valley
Posted by: nvbobr_imp - 01-23-2016, 04:08 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (16)

Yesterday the temperature was in the mid-70s along the Badwater Road in Death Valley National Park. (A bit of a contrast to the blizzard conditions happening right now "back east." Sorry guys!) The Spring wildflower bloom is getting an early impressive start especially near the ruins of the Ashford Mill. The Badwater Road is washed out just beyond this point from the massive October rains that are now fueling the bloom. There is speculation that this year might rival the "super bloom" of 2005. Traveling from my house on the CB1100 and back was 375 miles. I made it in 8 hours, stopping about once an hour. I hope to provide additional photos and reports as the bloom continues through March. The yellow flowers are Desert Gold (Geraea canescens).

  A curious thing
Posted by: Cormanus - 01-22-2016, 01:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

I've just followed a link which took me to the Japan Honda site where I found a link to the manuals page. Out of curiosity, I thought to see if I could find a manual in English specifically for the 2011 model (I have only a 2010 manual). I searched all years and this is what came up:

The thing I found curious is that there is no 2013 model even though that was the first year the bike turned up in the USA and Europe.

Oil level went to lower level?
Posted by: mattmcuomo@yahoo.com - 01-22-2016, 05:28 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (6)

2900 miles on my bike, changed oil at 600 miles. Level has been at upper level, checked today and it's at lower level? No leaks! Where did it go?

Selling a special, should I split it?
Posted by: beardyweirdy@me.com_imp - 01-22-2016, 05:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

I'm toying with the idea of selling my CB. I never thought I would, obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much cash on it! ;-) but I think I might.

It's a CB1100EX with a White House K10 Kit, low bars, single Over Silencer on cat free Arrow Headers. It has a flashed ECU with the Air Intake Mod, a PCv and Hepco Becker rear carrier. There are all the Std bits that I removed plus a K10 Low Seat and some Enlarged Air Funnels I never fitted. I'm sure if i thought hard there are other bits too...

Well, this isn't the Ad, and sorry it you think this is in the wrong topic, but I'm in two minds what to do with it. Put it back to Std. and split all the custom bits or sell it as a whole. More hassle to sell all the bits individually but I think there will be a limited market for a complete bike. I know most people like to build their own and to their own taste.

I'm going to photograph her as she is now. So I have a record of it at least. But wondering after that if I should put it back to std and re-photograph. People usually like pics of the bike they're getting.

There is also part of me that wants to keep the K10 bit and power goodies for a future project.... ah, choices, choices.

Just wondered what other peoples experience has been of selling their customized specials? Also, any suggestion for good selling sites for non std bikes?

Best
Kev

All those in the east and northeast, please be safe with this predicted large storm building over y'all.

From all I've read, it may be a significant and dangerous event.
