I don't understand Chinese, but dang, this is the chinese proverb A picture is worth a thousand words put into practise Smile
One of the best reviews of a bike I've ever seen, not only of our bike, but in general.

Clear sharp images and close ups, swooping riding videos and touching almost every aspect of the bike, even things as the range of the headlights!

Many western reviewers and established channels can learn from this guy!

  Hunting rpm
Posted by: Jeffhark_imp - 01-31-2016, 01:29 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (148)

Hello fellow CB riders,
Here is my current symptoms on my 2014 cb1100. I start my machine up let it do its warm up and it drops to the normal 1100 rpm then I take off come to a stop sign or traffic light and it pops back up to the rpm range as if the motor was cold (1500 rpm's) so I go in for what's wrong with it on Tuesday the 2nd wish me luck hope Honda covers it under warranty!!!

  Ryujin Exhaust System Review
Posted by: Magnus_imp - 01-31-2016, 05:50 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (9)

undefined
Well... just spent half an hour writing a detailed review and when I tried to attach pictures to the post (which I guess I can't on this forum) everything got deleted! That's what I get for being a newby I guess.

So... I've been lurking on the forum since I got my 2014 black standard CB1100 reading stuff but not posting. Figured I'd post now that I have something to contribute.

I decided a while back that my first modification would be the exhaust. After careful deliberation I decide on the Ryujin exhaust system as sold by Samurider for a few reasons:

1) Retains use of center stand
2) Removable Baffle
3) Beautiful hand bent system in black to match the black bike
4) Does not requite removal to access the oil filter

So I ponied up $1200 or so waited a month to get it from Japan. It arrive a few weeks ago and has now been removed from the bike and put on Ebay at half what I paid for it.

Why? Because it scrapes on the underside of the header collector (by front of the frame) under very hard right hand turns. Disclaimer: I'm 250lbs and like to push lean angles to the limits so perhaps other people might have better luck. I tried adjusting the suspension settings to no avail. Although I love everything else about this exhaust system I just can't stand to compromise handling on a bike. I had seen some posts about this being a problem on the very similar Yoshimura vintage full exhaust system as well and I guess I was hoping the Ryujin would be different.

Otherwise the exhaust was very nice. Looked great! (Wish I could post a pic) Also the sound with the baffle installed was reasonable (94db supposedly). With the baffle removed (essentially no muffler) power levers were GREAT but sound level quite loud as you'd imagine. If I didn't feel bad being a public nuisance I'd probably run with no baffle as it sounded surprisingly awesome and the power levels were better.

So, the system is removed and carefully bubble wrapped and packed up (saved all the original packing fortunately). Would have listed this for sale on the forum but since I'm a lurker I don't have enough posts to qualify to sell. We'll see if I get any bids on Ebay.

The bike now has the stock system back on it and I'm awaiting an Arrow slip on. It seems the factory header/cat is carefully packaged to allow just enough clearance for extreme lean angles and I double I'll find this with any other aftermarket offering. Best to just keep the stock headers afterall...

Safe and Fun riding to all! Hope this post was helpful.

  Russell Saddle
Posted by: Redbird_imp - 01-30-2016, 03:03 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (13)

I took a ride today (before the snow started again) to try out my new Russell Saddle. LOVE IT!! The folks at Russell got it just right for me and my butt! Some will say it does not look right on a CB, but man, it sure feels right.

Road Comet Windshield annoying vibration NOISE!
Posted by: Riko_imp - 01-30-2016, 02:26 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

Hi all!

Yesterday I installed my Chic Design Road Comet I screen.
Smoke aero version.

Installation was not as easy as I expected, but still less fiddly than the rear OEM rack Angry

That same night I took off, at night in the pouring rain, I didn't care Smile
I really wanted to ride since the bike sat more than a week in the garage because of rain in combination with salty roads...but hey the temps went up past week and the rainy days flushed the salt away (I hope).

It was only city riding, so I could't really judge the screen.

However, I immediately noticed the screen made a very annoying vibration noise as soon as I revved the engine.
It didn't took much revving, relaxed riding was enough for the noise to appear! Angry

I did see that Dengie Boy added these additional support brackets
[Image: eb52d32048c2b0e9b02cb241dda9a710.jpg]
But thats was because the screen bounced around at anything over 60mph...

But I think this would fix my noise issue as well since the noise went away when I pushed the screen a bit forward.

Do other owners experience the same issue?

Thx!
