Bought the Slipstream SO-3 and installed it on the CB. OK, found that it took so much wind off my chest that the second to the lowest setting on my heated gear is still too hot.

But a lot of wind buffeting leading to a lot of noise around the helmet. Need a solution for that. Then I recall I had a boat load of extra velcro dots for mounting my Laminair Lip. Took 40 minutes to find them, but I did, and took the lip off my MRA screen and mounted it on the Slipstream. Finally took it for a test ride this afternoon: Woow! Wind goes up and over my head, much quieter, this is good!

Pro: Very good protection, even for the thighs, noise is now very tolerable. I can have the flip screen on my helmet up without the air stream yanking my head back.

Con: Dang mounts loosen up on short rides (mainly the fork tube mounts, their system is not impressive), wind now pushes from behind (expected, and this is nit-picking), more noise from the road and engine now finds its' way to my ears. Looks very 1970's ish and dorky. But I have a Chic fairing coming in for the warm weather and when I want to look cool.

I really liked the looks of this seat when I first got the bike, but figured it was too low for my longish legs. When I recently saw another CB owner wanted to sell his, I jumped at the chance.
Unfortunately, I was right about the height problem, but it just looks bitchin' anyway, and the foam is actually really comfortable. I figure I'll use it on shorter canyon runs, etc. where my legs won't get too cramped up, and run the mega-comfy Tiro for everything else.

Recently, Ferret was kind enough to share some templates he made for applying protective film on the fuel tank of the CB. Before ordering a sheet of the 3M product online, I called and spoke with the owner of the local high end car detailing shop here in town.

(When I arrived, they had a brand new Mercedes AMG-GT S, a mint condition Porsche 356, a 911 GT3 and a 2005 Ford GT in the shop getting detailed to perfection! I got a little dizzy from all of the four wheeled eye candy!)

Anyways, the owner was kind enough to give me a 5 minute crash course on how to obtain good results. He also gave me enough "scraps" (some pieces are 24x24") that I can now have enough to practice a bit with and then wrap EVERYTHING on all of my bikes, the front strip of my truck's hood, the hood on my wife's minivan and still have some left over for the gas tanks on my future bikes.

So before going eBay or Amazon, give your local shop a call and ask them if they would please save you some scraps that they are probably going to toss in the trash anyways!

so I'm looking at the Over Racing slip-ons for my DLX and they are available in either SS or titanium.

The immediate advantage I can see from the titanium is lighter weight, but other than that is it worth it to pay more? Do the titanium ones blue after a while? I'm not crazy about that.

Just read an article on E-15 fuel,looks like the EPA will up the percentage of ethanol mix in our fuel. Not a good thing for bikes or atvs . Also going to install blender pumps at gas stations,but still leaves about a quart left of fuel in the delivery hose after fueling. Write your representive and make your views against this new act.Most motorcycle manufactuer's will void the warranty.

Okay, this is going to be team effort. The first person to join in will be the first person we'll walk through the process. We'll keep things simple and not try to swap out pieces, but you have to be willing to turn a wrench and post pics so all can follow.

We'll do the front suspension then rear.

Some baseline info:
- 2014 weight: 540 lbs wet
- front suspension travel: 4.2"
- rear suspension travel: 4.5" (this is not the same as shock working range, it is the range of motion of the swing arm as measured at the axle, limited by the range of motion of the shock)

Are there any manufacturers that warrant their bags against fading?

I'm not looking for Harley decibels, but dangit, I want to hear SOME rumble! I know there are other exhaust threads out there but there seems to be no definitive answer about options for my DLX.

Are there still no slip-ons available yet for the DLX? Drilling baffles?

What are the best aftermarket 4-2 pipes out there? It would also be nice to get a performance boost as I plan to do the Guhl ECU flash as well.

I'm willing to lose the center-stand. Opinions?

Have you ever heard of the AIMExpo? It's pretty much the epicenter of the motorcycling universe for four days in Orlando, Florida every October. It's over 850,000 sq./ft. of all the manufacturers showing off their new toys, hundreds of vendors selling stuff (566 vendors booths in 2015), factory demo rides, famous motorcyclist/racer/celebrity appearances, vintage bike displays, custom bike shows, etc...

The public is allowed in during the last couple of days. I am flying down if anybody wants to come along.
