The weather is getting nicer and nicer here in MN. The snowmobiling season is basically over. I am getting excited to fire up the CB!

So, I've now had two oil filters vibrate loose while running the bike, and start dripping oil, while running, which gets all over the Yosh exhaust and the rear tire....

This is Highly irritating, not to mention dangerous. I always do my own oil on all my bikes, and hand tighten the oil filters to ~the same tension. I've NEVER had one vibrate loose in thirty plus years before this CB, now I've had two within six months.

Yes, I checked there is not an extra gasket, and I did oil the gasket lightly before spinning it on.... Dang Gonna have to wire the fuggin thing.

Anyone else have this?

Anyone using this from Samurider? How does it attach? It looks like it's floating alongside the bike in Samurider's picture!

I have an Aerostitch jacket that I have ridden with for years but it is kind of ugly. I also have an old leather jacket (Hein Gericke) that would be nice to update. So I am wondering about buying a waxed cotton jacket to kind of replace both. I like the water proofing idea of waxed cotton. My question is more of an opinion of guys who own them and if they like the Belstaff jackets or like kind of jackets. I know Vanson makes one now also that is sold through Union Garage in Brooklyn. Thanks

The weather has been so nice here the last few days so I got ready to take a 100 mile ride. As I was rolling it out of garage my bike seemed a bit heavier than normal but thought surely I don't have a rear flat. Took a look & sure enuf there was a wood screw in the tire. Pulled it out - plugged it - no leak. But here's my dilemma - I have 5000 miles on the bike. I could go cheap & replace the back Dunlop tire(although it's proving hard to find that on internet) or just go ahead & replace them both now with the Michelin's PR3's.
Looking for input. Anything will be helpful.

By the way are the PR3's for our bikes this size - Front 110/80-18; Rear 160/60ZR18

Cold this morning but dry. Left the house at 8:55 with the temp showing 38 on the thermometer and ran over to my buddies coffee shop and shot the breeze for about half hour and then rode out to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake (about 15 minutes from my house). Antelope Island was recently in the news for setting a world record for the highest price paid for a mule deer hunting tag ($400K+).

The island is connected to the mainland at the northeast corner by a man-made causeway 7 miles long. Pic shows the first 3 miles of the causeway looking back east towards the Wasatch Mt's.

Coming off the causeway almost to the island is a small memorial to a special ops crew that perished in a training exercise when their Blackhawk went down in the lake during winter.



Once on the actual island the roads are in pretty good shape, twisty, with expansive views in all directions. This is off a small road between the visitor center and one of the beaches on the north end of the island. Looking north west

Antelope Island is also known as having one of the largest free roaming buffalo herds (bison for those of you who feel the need to use the correct name for the species) in the US. You can see 5 of them bedded down behind the bike. Many times I've ridden here and they're standing in the middle of the roads and you just have to give them their space or go elsewhere.

This was taken on the way home about 5 miles east of the island and facing due east towards my house. I've snow-shoed/winter camped and grouse hunted along the ridges visible in the picture.



When I made it home 1.5 hours later the temp had climbed to 42. Good ride with few cars out.

As I have mentioned at every opportunity, my wife is away and the house is much too quiet. I'm feeling pretty blue, what with the cold rain/no riding. So, what Netflix or Youtube or streamable movies do you guys recommend? I've seen the "Long Way" movies and "On and Sunday" and the one about the Dunlop family. Anything out there that might scratch my particular itch?

My wife always complains that the rear passenger pegs are position too high for her to be comfortable. Did offer her a pillow without much success. Then I installed the adjustable MFW passenger foot pegs from Twisted Throttle with the the 50mm extension arm. Kind of pricey, but seem to do the job, no more complains. I don't see many threads on this subject, has any one else had this problem? The pegs now stick out further away from the frame, but function OK. Attached photo.
