So don't know if it's been done before but would like to know what style helmets you guys are wearing on this retro beauty. Are you a retro guy, a sporty guy, safety guy, plain Jane or no helmet, free in the wind type guy. Or gal. Let's see them pics.

There is an old saying--Be careful what you wish for-- I had a 1982 CB900C it had a fairing and trunk, I have a 2013 cb1100 standard now and I am really missing my 900, air shocks fairing and stereo, shaft drive and a 10 speed tranny, I know that i am just whinning but i am having a tough time getting used to the new bike.

  CB1100 Idle speed instability problem
Posted by: ericlo69_imp - 03-03-2016, 01:13 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (1434)

There are hundreds CB1100 owners in Taiwan, and we have one group in Facebook (HONDA CB1100 riders’ club), we can share information and issue discussion in this group. As of today seveal CB1100 got idle speed unstable problem (Idle speed drop, then engine died; all are 14’ or 15’ model), some are solved by throttle valve assembly or idle motor replacement, some are still suffering this problem. most of them can solve the problem temperally by ignition off/on.

Here I would like to descript one case, one owner suffers serious idle speed problem for one month, his CB1100 is EX version (Y2015, mileage ~ 3000 miles), and symptoms are as follows,
1. Symptom: During riding (engine was in normal operation temperature), suddenly idle speed went up to 1500rpm (normally should be ~ 1000rpm); ignition off/on could solve this problem temporally.
2. Dealer’s actions: throttle valve cleaning, ECU reset…
3. Symptom: After dealer’s action and hours riding, suddenly the idle speed dropped to about 500 RPM the engine died at stop light. Restarted engine, but idle speed was about 500rpm, engine idle again. Ignition off/on could solve this problem temporally.
4. Dealer’s actions: adjusted some valves…(dealer didn’t descript the detailed)
5. Symptom: After dealer’s action and one hour riding, symptom is back to the same as item 1.

Owner tried TPS reset procedures - switch run, turn ignition on (but do not start), slowly twist throttle from fully closed to fully open twice, turn ignition off, the effect is the same as if just did ignition off/on only.
Dealer technician said the next action will be throttle valve assembly replacement; if didn’t work still, the following action is ECU replacement.
It will be highly appreciated if any suggestions from somebody with experiences.

  Helmet Reco Needed
Posted by: White Dog_imp - 03-03-2016, 11:54 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (19)

Can some nice person recommend an economically-priced full face helmet with minimal wind noise? I have a Shoei Qwest that is driving me crazy with the constant roar. The noise is coming from the face shield area, as I have the wind blocker in place and feel no air underneath. I ride behind a PS2 and had it about as high as it would go but no help. In fact it was so high, the wings to block air on the hands were higher than my handlebars, rendering that part of the shield ineffective.

  2017 Indian Springfield
Posted by: EGAlvarez_imp - 03-03-2016, 01:57 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (6)

The new Indian is not a Scout variation as all the rumors had suggested; maybe Indian has more surprises up its sleeves for this year!

Hard bags, tubeless cast wheels...I like it!

Photoshop wizzkids request -> black out fork, peg bracket, shock spring
Posted by: Riko_imp - 03-02-2016, 07:39 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (16)

I was wondering how my CB would look like if I black out my front shocks, the peg brackets and perhaps the springs of the rear shocks.

All those parts are available in black on the Black Style CB sold in Japan (and France I think)

Are there peeps here who have descent experience or know how in Photoshop to black out those specific parts?

If you can only do 1 part mentioned, thats also fine by me Smile

I provide these 2 high resolution pictures to work with:

I am curious to see what comes out of this Smile

Thx a lot Smile

  2017 Kawasaki Z900RS
Posted by: EGAlvarez_imp - 03-02-2016, 01:00 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (56)

What is Kawasaki up to?! Competition for our CB?

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2016/03/01/ma...ks-z900rs/

From Motorcycle.com:
"Kawasaki has filed a trademark application for Z900RS, a name that echoes back to one of the company’s most storied bikes: the Z1.

The trademark application itself reveals very little, except to say the Z900RS name is intended for use for “motorcycles; parts and fittings for motorcycles.” What’s beyond doubt is the importance of the name for Kawasaki. The original Z900 was one of several names used to market the Z1, a 903cc four-stroke double overhead cam inline-Four introduced in 1972 that helped define the term “superbike.” The Z1 was also marketed under the name 900 S4 and KZ900 before it was succeeded in 1977 by the Z1000 (a.k.a. KZ1000).

While it’s possible Kawasaki may be trademarking the name to maintain control over a big part of its heritage, that doesn’t explain why the company chose to file for the name Z900RS and not any of its other names.

One theory is the name will be used for a new retro-styled roadster (hence the letters “RS” to differentiate it from the more aggressive and modern-looking Z1000 and Z800) along the lines of Honda‘s CB1100. Kawasaki already has a similar model in the W800, offered in Europe and Japan. The W800 is a Twin however, and a new Z900RS would likely stay true to its heritage and be an inline-Four.

As with all trademark filings, there’s no telling if or when we will see an actual product. Given the importance of the name, a new Z900RS will carry some hefty expectations."

Do the bronzed headers on this 2013 CB1100 look normal for approx 4000 miles?

Thanks! --CB360T
