Photoshop wizzkids request -> black out fork, peg bracket, shock spring - Riko_imp - 03-02-2016

I was wondering how my CB would look like if I black out my front shocks, the peg brackets and perhaps the springs of the rear shocks.

All those parts are available in black on the Black Style CB sold in Japan (and France I think)

Are there peeps here who have descent experience or know how in Photoshop to black out those specific parts?

If you can only do 1 part mentioned, thats also fine by me Smile

I provide these 2 high resolution pictures to work with:

I am curious to see what comes out of this Smile

Thx a lot Smile

Maybe it's just me, but I view the DLX-EX as a retro celebration of bright paint, chrome, clear anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel. I wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I'd be stripping the black plasti-dip off of your side covers to expose the beautiful red painted finish...but again, that's just me...and maybe a few others who wish they could have gotten their hands on a new or pristine DLX. I'm struggling to understand why you would want to spend large in order to make your bike to look like the cheaper Standard Model and likely reduce its resale value. Undecided

Quick & Dirty version...

I like the blacked out brackets, but the forks and shocks I prefer as is.

very understandable, but I have already backed down a lot.
Initially I had plans in my head to black out most of the bike except for the engine.
But I will let everything stock except for those 3 parts...

There is still enough chrome on the bike, especially the top parts:
fenders front and rear, blinkers, entire engine (well not exactly chrome)
And to forget my Chromed wheels! Smile

Forget to mention: I do not care about the resell value, I won't resell this bike Smile
If I decide to black out those shocks and springs, I would most likely just buy the parts and keep the stock parts.
But that's over a long period.
So absolutely no hurry at the moment, I was just curious and wanted an impression of the look.

Dang, what a great job you've done, thx a million man!
You did the fork good with the lighting and all :-)

I'm in doubt, but I kinda dig the black forks with the rest of the bike and I think in real life it will look at least as good as on picture.

I blacked out my grab handles, too.

Buy a standard and swap on a higher capacity red tank and dual exit exhaust. You don't really need the ABS. Haha

good pic!

The Trunk seat is on my wishlist since the beginning and since it is the most expensive part, it will be the last part to purchase Dodgy
But your pic does give me the opportunity to see how the bike looks like with that trunk seat + black grab handles but with the stock side covers.

I kinda like it more when the side covers are blacked out too Blush

So are you thinking about blacking out the side covers too now, since you also have plasti dip Smile

I did use a whole canister of Plastidip for the side covers (3 layers) and the grabhandels (4 layers).

And I still believe your bike will look great too with black forks and springs Smile
In my eyes its about balance and that the lower half of the bike is black (with the exception of the engine of course) and the top half is about color.

Rob if you have the black plastic dip why not do your rear footpeg brackets to see if you like them before having them anodized?

That's exactly the plan, Ferret! Thumbs Up
Riko,

I like the continuity of red from the front fender, RC fairing, fuel tank, side cover, and Chic seat. I don't want to break that up with a black side cover. I like it on your bike, though.
