I have a red 2013. I did not like the silver triangle side covers. After looking around on internet, I could not get an answer from japan or Netherlands about color code of their offerings. I did like the daytona brand ko style side covers. They said candy red, but the 2014 candy red is a little different. I ordered a set for the deluxe 2014 from a honda dealer. The color is so close, that I have to really look in the sun for any shade or tone difference. Because of the bends, shadows and curves in the tank, near the side covers it looks fantastic. 235.00 delivered to my house. I wanted a fake oil cap, but I will get over it. They look amazing. (and i am very picky about details.) now for a 4 into 4 exhaust.

For the sake of vanity (and for no other reason), I'd like to toss the oil cooler on my CB, but I imagine it's a bad idea. I understand Honda had issues controlling cylinder head temps and my removing the oil cooler would likely make things worse. Still, to me, it uglies up the bike. Has anyone tried this and lived to tell about it?

I sold my Harley on EBay a couple of weeks ago and the truck came to pick it up today. It's headed to CA then on to Japan, little ironic.

I donned my new Schuberth C3, that I got 30% off , and headed out early today. I avoided all the trafficked main roads and made my way to Chatham. The C3 is great, super quiet, snug, warm, free of drafts and I remembered to put on my glove liners today.

My wife and I saved for 10 years and did an Edelweiss tour of 5 countries in Europe a few years ago. Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and Lichtenstein. Expensive, yes, but absolutely the greatest motorcycling experience in our lives. So glad we did it. Highly recommended. I've often said if Europe changed places with Canada, and I could just drive there, I'd go there several times a year.

Hard to describe what it's like riding over there but here's a neat little video that somewhat represents it.

Has anyone dropped their bike off for service and picked it up sounding different/worse?

Had the 8,000 mile service done yesterday. Other than dirt/salt/farkles, the bike sounded and ran the same as the day I bought it from the dealer. I dropped it off at the same dealer on Monday afternoon, and then I picked it up on Tuesday evening. After turning it on, I noticed a "clicking". Basically, an additional sound on top of the regular engine sound. It was present at all RPMs. I immediately turned it off and walked back inside. Manager said the tech also noticed it and it sounded like the air intake valve, but that it wasn't broken. They said I was welcome to ride it around and bring it back later if it still bothered me. After riding it around town, it is best described as a "gurgle" from the front / maybe leftish side of the bike.

NOTES: the valves didn't need adjusting at all and the spark plugs were not replaced; brake line was flushed and the oil was changed.

2.5 hour drive from northern NJ to Albany, NY. Luckily it wasn't too cold (although my fingertips still got a bit numb). My buddy who was nice enough to give me a ride at 7am took some shots from his car.

My only complaint - I'm 5'5" and my feet aren't flat on the ground. I just ordered the K&H Low seat from Samurider, which should bring me down to a 30" seat height (stock is 31.3 or something). I also plan on getting rid of the fender, new bars, bar end mirrors and painting the tank/side panels charcoal or gunmetal gray. All in due time...

MCN have published a full 5 page test on the new Thruxton today and give it a 5 star rating. Their only criticism was that the side stand was tricky to operate when wearing race boots !!
