  Upside down
Posted by: LongRanger_imp - 03-14-2016, 05:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

As much as I love my DLX, I must admit that I'm completely enamored by the new Thruxton. Assuming it reasonably fits me, which isn't a sure thing (I'm 6'6"), I will likely sell the Honda to make room for the Triumph. I don't even know how much it costs. Any guess as to how upside-down this will leave me? The DLX is probably worth $7k, so I'm thinking another $7k out of pocket. This is for the non-R model.

  Django's CBF1000FA
Posted by: Django - 03-13-2016, 09:06 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (29)

This is my first photo of my new CBF1000FA. It was token as it arrived at the dealership.

Now the dealership will add OEM paniers and heated grips and we are still waiting for the paperwork. If everything is fine, we'll get it street legal this week.

Sorry for the low quality of the photo. It was token by my cell phone.

If you don't mind, I'd made this thread to a kind of my CBF1000FA blog.

Some info about the CBF1000FA and its predecessor CBF1000:

Call me crazy...but I'm not so into modding
Posted by: glenridgerich_imp - 03-13-2016, 11:09 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (26)

It seems that more often than not folks like to make modifications to their bikes, and for those who do, I support your decision to do so whole heartedly. Motorcycling is the perfect place to showcase your individuality, and modding your bike is your own way to do what pleases you. That said, I've never been into modding. In particular, the CB is a very refined design, and in my view, not in any need of improvement. I wish the pipe was a little louder though. See, I've contradicted myself already!

The Chrome in the 14 Std
Posted by: Nemo_imp - 03-13-2016, 05:47 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

I look at 13's and 14 DLX's and in my (not-so-humble) opinion the chrome goes perfectly with them. However, when I look at my 14 standard the chrome looks like it was a budget afterthought from Big Red. I imagine the conversation went something like (in Japanese) "Guys, never mind about getting those fenders, bars, mirrors and taillight assembly painted black... We have a million of them already chromed and gotta get rid of them."

I would not mind my CB to be a bit more "blackened". Something like

What do you think?
