A neighbor is a moto vlogger and product reviewer, and he asked me to try this jacket. The sample fits me better than it fits him.

Very interesting. It has a few electro luminescent strips on the sides and back, with a rechargeable battery pack in the right cuff. Just the thing for night commuting. We're going for a night ride in a few days so he can video me wearing it while riding, but I think it's interesting.

I’m out riding in Utah, trailered to Salt Lake. The question is my fuel tank, my research shows 4.5-4.6 Gal or so. It seems like something is off. I’ve driven twice, got down to one ‘flashing’ bar on the fuel gauge. With this I then went to the station, 2.88 gallons later it was full to the brim.

We only had one longer leg between stations, carried extra fuel , no biggie.

I’ll look into it more, thought I’d ask here.

Had a great time with a buddy on a NineT. Four days, haven't counted miles yet but probably at least 1500 km. Saw 43,000km at some point, too!

Late last year, while chatting with a driver at a racing trade show, he said "A lighter car goes faster. And it takes thousands to take weight out of the car, but it doesn't cost a dime to take weight off of the driver."

While he said this, I was gazing down at my prodigious stomach, and musing about how tight my dress trade show shirts, which are only worn twice a year, were fitting.
I thought back at when I had to get my new Real I.D., I listed a lofty weight that was about 30 pounds less than what I actually was, thinking that someday I'd actually try to hit it.

I figured if a lighter car goes faster, a lighter bike goes a heckuva lot faster. So, after I got home from the show, I went on an eat-less, move-more program, and as of this morning, according to the freight scale in my shop, I just hit the number on my I.D.

To celebrate, I walked to Costco to buy a few bundles of sale-priced microfiber towels. While I was there, I figured I needed some slimmer pants as well, to replace the ones that I've been wearing, zip-tying the belt loops together to tighten them up.

An ancient Chinese proverb states that "When a man starts buying his pants at Costco, he has truly given up." Well, I just bought five of em. Walking back to the office with my box, I got incredulous comments from people in the parking lot... "Did you just... walk... to Costco?"

I noticed that my taillight assembly is rattling. I adjusted both screws, but the lamp cover assy is not tight.

it seems like there is a gap between the cover and the support, maybe a seal missing?

Anyone has experienced this?

A long time friend of mine loves BMW brand...and drops hints that I should buy one so we can ride "on the same footing". We've ridden to Central America together and were matched on KLR650s, turned out well. A few summers ago he was on his GS1200 and I on my CB1100 as we explored a bit of British Columbia. It worked, but there were times we might have explored other areas had I had a different bike.

So now we've planned a trip to Alaska for June-July. He's insisting that I take one of his GS1200s. Ok! To get it to Oregon, I did a fly and ride from St. George, Utah.

On Thursday of last week, I flew in to Vegas and my friend met me there and we shuttled over to St. George. His son is a ranger for the state parks and by afternoon we were riding the fringes of Zion so I could acclimate to the bike:


On Friday, I got away by 2pm and started heading to Oregon, taking hiway 18 N x NW to 56, over to hiway 93 and then north to Ely, Nevada.


I would dance with the desert rains during the whole trip--one cloud burst got me for about 30 minutes--but I never really felt wet as it was so dry the drops would evap in seconds.



Never had cruise control before which was nice. Heated grips, check. Easy to ride and got more comfortable with each curve.


Most of the route north I had rain storms on either side of me, always seemed I was about to get a good soaking and then the hiway would veer away.


It's a pretty relaxing ride. The windshield does a decent job, but the air flow still hit the top 2" of my helmet. Kind of noisy, but it didn't buffet me much.

Hiway 93 runs into 50 which then takes you to Ely, and somewhere after I was planning to find a camp spot.


After exploring a few dirt/rock roads into the hills, I found a spot I liked, about a mile away from the hiway 10 miles east of Ely.


I didn't realize I was at 7200' elevation, and yep, it was a cold night. But with multi-layers including all my mc gear, a decent sleeping bag and using my stove as a heater to combat the 37f degrees....it was bearable, barely.

Hello again, not sure if I got misfit mid-pipe or others had the same problem. The mid-pipe stay doesn't match up with the center stand effectively. Pics attached. The only thing I can figure if the end is suppose to go over the ring at the end of the header which doesn't make allot of sense. But that is the only way it will center it. Also, I have tightened the clamp between the mid-pipe and the header and when the center stand strikes it, it moves the mid-pipe. I can't get the pics to appear. I choose the file, I choose add the attachment, it shows up as a IMG .jpg when I choose insert into post, it changes screen but doesn't post the pic?

Is there anyone else currently running the (now discontinued) SW-motech evo luggage rack system? I just replaced my rear fender with one that isn't bobbed, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing a part or need to modify what I have. Specifically, I'm looking for a couple photos of the rear cross bar & how it's mounted to the license plate bracket. I tried contacting their North American distributor for a parts list or instructions, but the CB is no longer listed in their system.
