  2014 rear wheel knocking noise
Posted by: dunebuggy_imp - 07-30-2024, 04:39 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

Hi everybody,
New owner (2 months) of a 2014 1100 A.
Great bike !
This morning went for a ride for about an hour. On my way back after a light, I started to hear a knocking, kinded clangy, noise around the rear wheel ONLY when accelerating, so afew clang during 1st gear and 2nd gear after all good.

At arrival I put the bike on center stand and simulate by gently applying the rear brake, same noise, hard to say precisely but it looks like every half wheel rotation.

Chain is clean and no heavy tight spot, slack is 1 1/2 inch

Wondering what happened during the ride ?

The knocking is very present only during acceleration and hard to say if it s from the rear wheel or the front sprocket

Thanks in advance
Eric

Wife and visited grandson and his fiance at USAF Academy in Colorado Springs.

Then went up to Loveland to visit daughter #2 and granddaughter (6).

Daughter chauffeured us to Georgetown for a ride on a narrow gauge train, pulled by a century old oil-fired steam engine.

Great trip, added ~950 miles to truck's odometer.

Yoshimura RS3 replacement for an '13
Posted by: Jurlie_imp - 07-27-2024, 12:33 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (7)

Hi guys,

it happened, that my yoshi slip-on which I loved, got crumpled. Not too much, but noticeable enough so I want to replace it. The problem is that no one sells an RS3 fitting an '13 CB1100 anymore. I could find an RS3 fitting some other bike (Hayabusa or something), but the problem is that not only the slip-on itself is crumpled, but also the pipe next to it, which is, I assume, model specific.

What would you guys recommend in this situation? Do I have any chance to get a replacement RS3 (the preferred option) or should I shop for another slip-on? If so, which one is closer by sound and look to an RS3?

Hi all

So what do you all use for navigation when out on your bikes?

Maps on phone like google or a stand alone sat nav like Garmin?

How do you mount them?

Tank bag, Bar Mount etc

  ABS question
Posted by: Whit_imp - 07-20-2024, 09:20 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I have a 2013 CB1100 standard.
VIN JH2SC6515DK000601.
I am the 3rd owner. Question is did the standard come with rear ABS brakes?
Looks as though I have ABS brakes on the rear. See picture below.

Third bike, third Honda, circa 1969

1967 Honda CL160 (not near as fast as second bike, second Honda, a 1967 CB160 purchased new)

Only 1.3 mile to work, but went through a few brake/taillights. No LEDs back then!

The metalflake gold helmet was purchased for that second Honda in New Jersey, circa 1967. Leather lined. I was wearing it went I went down in a snowstorm, resulting in snow being pushed behind the face plate.

On that 1967 CB160, key switch under tank, no kill switch (stop/run) and no throttle return cable. Made it awkward when throttle cable froze!
It was white, so I was camouflaged in the snow!
Feeling nostalgic today. Using search on the forum, wanting to not duplicate a post, I came across some posts from Eric / Long Ranger.
Good health and safe riding to all!
