Not rare that real pro/s make fun of system helmets, not cool enough, not save enough, or just on "old man's helmet" and made for the police anyway. Who needs to open it anyway and why ?

Anyway my "cool" LS2 system helmet probably saved my life last night, or at least a bad accident and drop. Here is how.

In moderate fast moving traffic, 4 lanes, a few trucks. Helmet drop-door and visor both closed, speed about 65 mph. All of a sudden I hear ... and then feel .... and then see a wasp inside my visor. She is panicked, and I am too. How she got inside ? I have no idea. My imagination went into overdrive for a second.

After another second or two - of shock, not reaction time - I open the "door", and turn my head all the way to the right. The spook gone and I remained unstung.

Imagine the end of the story had I been riding with a full helmet.

I was away from home recently and stayed in apartment equipped with Wi-Fi. No big deal there; they mostly are. However, just before turning in, I decided to do my moderator’s duty and check in on the forum. I do that most nights.

Imagine my surprise to be greeted with this screen:


I contacted Guth and the Ferret who both assured me I hadn’t. So I pondered a bit and wondered what would happen if I went off the Wi-Fi and back to my telco.

I tried and, sure enough, I was back on the forum. I’m not sure whether to be surprised or disappointed.

Just a heads up.The Kenda cruiser. K671 tire is on clearance on Amazon. I just got a 140 70 18 for a 105 bucks. Delivered to my house. A good deal.

Mine was made in August 2023. Fresh too.

Does anyone know what the story is on the 2016 Canadian CB1100 models that are all black with a white checkered flag on the fuel tank?

Finding a CB1100 in Canada isn't easy, but there are a few of these models for sale and I can't quite figure out what they are.

They seem to have ABS, but then also appear to be the "standard" trim level with the smaller flat sided fuel tank and a 4 into 1 exhaust instead of the 4 into 2.

I prefer the flat sided fuel tank and mag wheels vs the spokes (don't like dealing with inner tubes) so the 2016 model is appealing to me as I believe it's the final year with the flat sided tank and mag wheels.

I currently have a Moto Guzzu V7 but would like something with a better dealer network and parts availability.

What are your thoughts on parts for these bikes in the future? Do they share enough parts with other Honda bikes that it won't be an issue?

This morning I took my white CB for a 110 miles ride.
After leaving the highway, I rode down the back roads between fields and going about 65 miles per hour, and suddenly a 25-pound turkey jumped out of my left side.
There wasn't even time for anything, and all I did was squeeze the bike with my thighs to form one solid block.

The bird hit me on the outside of my left calf, and thanks to my riding gear, sturdy shin & knee guard no serious consequences, I guess...
Nothing wrong with the bike.

In the rearview mirror I noticed a lot of feathers and probably a broken wing because it was trying to take flight erratically, I guess it survived.
After returning home, about 40 minutes later, I put on an ice pack and applied some ointment.

It could have ended much worse for me and my left leg, which had its knee replaced 5 years ago.
We'll see what happens tomorrow, but now it's been about 6 hours since this incident and everything seems to be fine, very light pain, almost no bruise and no swelling, and no painkillers needed.

Hello everybody I just purchased a 2013 CB 1100 with 4000 original miles on it. Got a great deal on it but it’s missing the front turn signals. It has an aftermarket headlight bracket. Everything else on the bike is 100% stock. I’m looking to buy a used headlight bracket and two front turn signal assemblies. I’m also looking for recommendations on exhaust pipes. I was looking at the style where it splits it into four tailpipes dual on each side. Kind of costly so I’m looking for a used one. Any information would be greatly helpful. I introduced myself in the new member thread a few days ago. Many of you gave me warm welcomes and for that I'm grateful, I hope to contribute more to the forum in the future.

As was discussed a little in my introduction thread, I need new tires ASAP. One of my tires could be as old as 2008. I've seen many other threads with lots of back-and-forth over which tires perform best, different sizes, brands, etc. If any of you could just tell me a quick summary of what tires you recommend and why. I don't know anything about bigger tires vs. what is considered OEM and the pros and cons. Ideally I'd like to stick to the middle of the road (ha) on my budget.

I understand the importance of learning all the ins and outs and I can do that later. I've just completed one of six 12-hour shifts and ideally I'd like to just be able to check the replies, find a good fit, and order them since I'll be working the next few days anyways (it'll cut down on my thumb-twiddling waiting time). I really don't want to ride the bike much until I can get some reliable and SAFE tires on there.

2014 Honda CB1100

I know this topic has come up, and I've read a few of the previous posts on the matter. I wanted to lower my rear brake pedal a bit so I don't have to think about what my right foot is doing so I'm not letting it dangle a bit and ride the pedal.

I loosened the lock nut and the adjuster nut and turned it as much as it would turn to allow the pedal to lower, but it allows for hardly any movement. In fact, I turned it far enough that the pedal bound, and first time I rode out of the garage and tapped the rear brake, it stuck and I had to pull the lever up to release the brake, return home and loosen it just enough that it operates without binding.

So am I correct that bending, grinding or cutting is the only solution for further adjustment of the pedal? If so, I'll leave it be.

Hope everyone is doing great. It's been a while since I was on here, but I have been riding a good amount this year in between the up and down weather we have had in Charleston. Mostly it's been on the Goldwing, but this past weekend I met up with Misterprofessionality (A.K.A. Adam) for a ride through the Francis Marion National Forrest at a brisk pace. We ended up at T.W. Grahams for lunch. Adam got a soft shell crab sandwich (don't see how anyone could eat those) and I got buffalo shrimp.
