Posting pictures directly to thread w/o hosting service

Is there a way to directly post a picture to this thread without going through an on line hosting service?

I know it can be done as I participate on another site which has this capability.

Looks like it's the same little air cooled thumper from the KLX230 dual sport in a BEAUTIFUL chassis! I can't believe we're getting this in North America! We never get cool small bore bikes like this! i'm over here measuring my garage for space....

  fork gaiters ??
Posted by: tdbru - 09-28-2024, 11:25 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (12)

anyone make fork gaiters in black for the 2014 std model? or know of a set of black fork gaiters that will work? I assume prop up the front end, pull the calipers, front wheel, then the forks, slip the gaiters on and put it all back together, right? I think it might look a bit more period with fork gaiters on. And it keeps bugs off the lower forks as well. I also assume this has been done before?
thanks,
tdbru

  Thruxton RS finally finished.
Posted by: misterprofessionality - 09-27-2024, 08:58 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (12)

I've had my triumph since April, and after 6 months and thousands of miles and an entire set of tires, it's finally finished. This is not a bike I ever felt needed any modification. It's perfect. I mean that. Every ounce of the performance, the sound, and the ergonomics were perfect from the first time I test rode it. This really isnt one of those bikes that needs constant improvement. But there was one thing....one cool affectation I had to have. I ordered the bikini fairing on day one of purchasing the bike and it took this long to get here. I must say, it feels like the bike has reached some kind of final evolution.

Give me your best Curvy Road picture.

See below for an example (not a picture I took myself). If anybody has a great picture they took at some point in their adventures of a beautiful twisty road stretching off into the distance, I would ask that you donate the image here for a little project I'm working on. Double points if there's motorcycles on the road! Triple points if they're CB1100's!

  850 mile review
Posted by: dorishuntt_imp - 09-22-2024, 05:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

While some people were celebrating 4/20 in other ways I was buying a Honda CB1100 in red, the only color they had available. It was the first CB1100 Cycle Center of Denton (in Denton, Texas) sold.

Yesterday they performed their first 600 mile service on a 2013 CB1100. They also cleaned it up for me, but that didn't last long as it rained on me going home. I took it out later last night to thrash it a little now that I'm no longer trying to keep it below 4k rpms.

So here's my quick and dirty list of what I like and don't like about the bike so far. Although it's a fairly heavy bike on paper it doesn't feel heavy at all and it's very nimble. It's pretty quick and, as I found out last night, the gearing is very tall. The engine is probably the smoothest and quietest I've ever heard. I've snuck up on people in the parking garage at work and they don't know I'm there until I'm right next to them.

The bad... the brakes are soft and so is the front end. It's too darn quiet!!! For as much as I love how quiet the bike is I also hate it. It sometimes makes me feel like I'm riding a scooter. I don't like loud bikes, but I like bikes that are loud enough. I like being able to rev my engine to let other cars know I exist and on this bike you just can't do that.

Overall I really like the bike and it's a lot of fun to ride. I'm racking up the miles as fast as I can. I've ordered a new seat and luggage rack which I'm sure will make it that much better, but it's definitely not the perfect bike and it does have it's flaws.

On the showroom floor before I bought it.
