He Y'all, leaving my workplace for an appointment just a few miles away, I was forced out of my lane before I even got out of the parking lot then a couple of hundred yards down the road was again forced out of my lane. All within a just a minute. Let's be careful and alert out there. I want see all us ride another day.

Weather looks like it's about time to get Baby out of Hibernation. Hope to get the little black toy out this weekend. I need some seat time so bad I can taste it. BananaExcited

  Mazda Miata?
Posted by: Bighonda14_imp - 03-22-2017, 06:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (60)

I am 54 years old and thinking about selling my beloved Honda CB1100 Deluxe and buying a Mazda Miata or similar car. Don't ride the motorcycle as much as I used to ride other bikes in the past. My 10 year old daughter and wife would both enjoy a convertible way more than the bike. A VW Golf or GTI with a manual, in place of my Honda Accord, is also an option.

Any stories from guys who made a similar move? What did you learn from the experience? Any advice? I could sell my bike and for another $5-8,000 get a pretty sweet used Miata.

I live in NJ so have cold weather some of the year.

Let me be clear -- I dearly love riding and my CB1100. Just wondering if it's time for a change.

Thanks for any thoughts!

  My new 2010
Posted by: CTsCB_imp - 03-20-2017, 07:05 PM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (19)

Finally got around to taking some pics after having a lot of fun riding it. Can't believe how good this bike feels, everything in the right place. When I picked it up it had only 556kms on the clock - in 7 years!!! I can feel the motor starting to loosen up now I have taken it on a few long rides.
Things I would change - it just screams out for a 6th gear on those long straight roads and the seat can be a bit numbing after a couple of hours!!
Other than that, it puts a smile on my face every time I get on it.
Plans - looking at putting a 4 into 4 exhaust on to give it a better sound and looking to see what luggage options are around.
Now if only Honda would bring in the new 2017 in to Australia.....

  Keeping my rear end clean!
Posted by: jdvalero_imp - 03-20-2017, 02:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

So after adjusting the chain slack on my CB today I decided to clean up the rear end of the fender....all because while adjusting the chain I hit the license plate bracket twice with my forehead, I decided to remove the bracket and this is what I ended with.

A Swiss member of the German language CB1100 forum posted these impressions from a motorcycle regular gathering. It's a report from SRF (Swiss television) from the early 70's.

I guess you'll like it.

The gathering still exists every Thursday.
