Hello All, I've finally got around to stop ignoring (neglecting) my Friend. I was going to take it out for the first time in a real Longggggg time - as suspected the battery needs a change and may need to be replaced. I'll put the charger on for a few hours and try. Even if it starts, I'll replace the battery - time for it anyway.

In the picture the battery for $138.99 is a direct replacement for what is there now. Model YTZ14S 12V 230cca 11.8 AH. Prices vary on amazon from a low of $38.78. Is there any difference from what you have seen over time as to whether it matters which I replace it with. I seem to recall last time I spend around $40-50 for the battery, not $140. The reviews for this battery vs the $5 cheaper model are all Good.

I don't know what is up at Amazon, the chargers run $10-50 for the one I paid $10.

The BrakeAWay website states the 7CP02 is the model I need to make it work.
BUT I have the bike home today and looked at the space between the switches and brake lever and can't believe the 7CP02 would work with the rod coming over to the left from the main unit on the grip.
Has anyone used a 7CP02 on the CB?

I didn't see any threads on this but the "wave" discussion prompted me.

As I have mentioned before, the bikes flood past here on weekends and often in groups. Some are mixed, some are crotch rocket clusters but many are Harley or cruiser pods. The latter are often the biggest groups.

The road can be busy here but never crazy. It's always 60/40 that you won't have to slow down or pass heading through the twisties. Good odds.

My question: what is the proper protocol for passing these large groups, especially the ones of 6, 8 or more that seem to be spread out forever but never far enough between them that you don't feel obligated to pass the whole group at once? They never seem to accommodate you and if you have to squeeze in, they make you feel unwelcome. But passing options are limited at times or very short runs. Or double solid, but fine on a bike.

Am I impatient or are they being road hogs? Even on a clean pass they never seem to wave back :-)

My very first motorcycle ride as a brand new 40 year old rider I missed the first person that waved. It didn't register that he was waving at me and I was now part of the club. I felt a little bad about not returning the courtesy. After that moment I became a bit hyper vigilant about waving to anyone on two wheels. Motorcycles, bicycles, e-bikes.

After a few weeks of riding I figured out a few things. Most bicyclists look at us the same as a car, but the odd one will give a nod or a wave in two wheel comrade-ere. E-bikes around here anyhow tend to be ridden by people who have had DUI's and can't get insurance. There is even a work program that has these as part of the transportation solution. Most people on e-bikes do not wave or smile as they are not on ebikes for pleasure. I'm sure there are exceptions to this, and I'm sure every region has their own e-bike culture, I'm just commenting about what I observe around here.

So I've grown into the habit of not making eye contact or waving st bicyclists or e-bikes. It was quite strange today while turning left at an intersection that turning left in the opposite direction was a gentleman on an e-bike eager to give me a nod and a wave. His opportunity to turn left occurred just a tad before mine and I was surprised as his face on view turned to profile that his e-bike transformed into a Honda DN-01. So this begs the question, was I supposed to wave?

For those of you fortunate to be enjoying riding season, and perhaps contemplating a trip to Colorado this holiday weekend for a ride in the Rockies, be advised many high passes are still closed due to snow. I had 3" at my house two nights ago and the Front Range is forecast to be in the 50's-60's this weekend and rainy, so the mountains will remain wet and chilly. It should by drier and warmer on the western slope.

I'd asked a few questions re Ikon shocks. I'm guessing there may not be much interest in this topic, due to lack of responses.

In the event there are a few of you who might want to read the brief but to-the-point response I received from Ikon, let me know and I'll copy and paste it to a post. It provides enough detail for me to proceed with them.

And BTW when I was at my Honda Store in Huntington Beach, CA I asked about the CB1100s as they had two black 2014s before. "We just sold the last one". They have a 2017 EX on the way will be there today or tomorrow.
I snagged a 2007 Goldwing yesterday and there's way to may buttons on it.
Turning is raising my blood pressure.
