Recently changed the original tyres and tubes. (Both Dunlop)

Couldnt get Dunlop tubes for the tyres so fitted Continental.

The original Dunlops were almost 10 years old no issues, the new Continental tube on front loosing air and only 3 months old!

Any suggestions out there for a quality Tube ( Uk based)

I'm second owner of this 2017 CB1100EX with only 1200 miles. The previous owner gave me a box of parts when I purchased the bike. One of the items in the box is a new Dynojet Power Commander V model 16-071. The previous owner bought it but never had the time to install. I don't plan on changing the exhaust ever. (1) Should I install this box or leave it alone. (2) If I install it how hard is it to tune the bike to find the sweet spot (3) where can I learn how to install on the bike properly. Have any of you guys with this Dynojet V posted a youtube video? Where I live there isn't any annual emission testing required. Thanks for your input.

I was giving a tour of the workshop area at the Petersen on Saturday morning, so I got there early. Everything in the shop changes so frequently that I need to get there before anyone else so that I can do some quick research on any cars in the shop that I've never seen before or are not familiar with.

They don't do any full restorations in the shop for the most part, just repairs, maintenance and detailing. They do work on interesting projects, largely for STEM classes with teens and automotive students, so there are some ongoing builds.

This one piqued my interest. Have never seen this, and there wasn't anyone around to ask about it. But, looks like they're building something very interesting. I'll keep my eyes on it!



Also saw that the shop was nicely decorated for the holidays! Fuel injection Menorah and tire stack Christmas tree, complete with coil spring and Mercedes emblem star on top.

Well you know what it's like when you have had a particular bike and you really loved it for its versatility, usability and ease of maintenance etc., well I fondly remember feeling very contented with my 2010 Suzuki GSX1250FA which I bought in mint condition with only 7000 miles on in 2022.


I posted on here when I got Fanny as she was christened and she was cruelly taken away from my wife and I in a serious accident back in August 2023.


Now we are feeling fit enough and living with the aftermath of our injuries and have managed quite well on my CB1100RS and Z900RS I felt the itch to fill the touring element that we missed on the GSX. You know the score you keep looking at ads for the bike you loved so much in the past!!! I've been trying to find something just as good as Fanny which really was in excellent condition but these big Suzuki's tend to get used in all weathers which means in the UK salty winters and finding a good one was like the needle in the haystack. Short of finding something that had been kept in a museum from new I had all but given up. But the stars aligned for me and I managed to find the one and she was delivered earlier in the week. So I introduce to you Florence. 2013 model, 13k miles and in probably better condition than her predecessor.

As I removed all the touring kit off my last one it will be going on Florence for the coming summer season!

Back pain...a real pain in the as...ankle.

I usually put about 6-8k miles of riding during a year. Several long trips this year allowed me to ride around 17k. Since right before Thanksgiving, I started having lower back pains and tightness. Related to too much seat time? Changing tires with the twisting and turning of the body (there's another point favoring those who take the bike into the shop), too much sitting at work / home watching silly youtube shorts? Combination of factors?

Who knows...but I'm interested in your experiences with back pain in general, lower back specifically. I have a pretty good stretching, hiking, swimming, light weight work-out routine that I've used for years, but this month-long pain has been nagging at times, somewhat debilitating at others, interrupting workouts and riding, and generally feels different than other back pains I've had.

Pain is at base of spine and spreads out around the waist and down the rear and into back of legs with bending, getting up, sitting down, taking a few steps after getting up, etc. Sciatic nerve? I read the symptons and try some stretching, take some ibuprofen, but nothing really seems to help, laying down feels best, sitting at length seems to make it worse. I'm getting my computer station at work set up for standing. And I'm seeing the doc on Tuesday to talk about it.

Meanwhile, what are your experiences? What has worked? What hasn't? I'd appreciate any experiences, figuring I can't be the only one. Internet says:

"Motorcycle riding can significantly aggravate sciatica pain, as the prolonged seated position with vibrations and potential twisting motions can put pressure on the sciatic nerve..." Which of course nobody hear likes to read.

With my new need to park all three bikes in the garage, including one sandwiched between the front of my car and my cabinets, I figured one of these Harbor Freight motorcycle dollies would make maneuvering a bit easier.

Picked one up a few nights ago on Facebook, and adjusted the side stand outrigger to fit all three bikes. Only monkeyed with it for a few minutes, but found it hard to roll with a bike on it. I'll try lubing the caster wheels which should help, but I'm wondering if anyone here uses one, and if you'd have any hacks or tricks that makes it easier to use.
