  MOST HANDSOME CB750 Four STABLE
Posted by: peterbaron - 09-09-2018, 09:44 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (5)

I was very privileged to visit Lash's CB750 Four Stable...the most gorgeous, private motorcycle assembly I've ever attended to.
Seeing a pic versus a real motorcycle that you can touch, gives you an enormous feeling and excitement.
He's got four CB750 Four, two are 1969 , one is 1971 and the fourth is 1972. All in immaculate, running condition, plated and being ridden daily, dust free.
The most handsome, in my opinion, are the 1969 read and the 1972 orange.
If I visited Lash 2 weeks earlier , I also would see his silver CBX that is now gone forever...
The work is done by Lash in more details.
Walking around 3 door garage, ops, Honda facility, one would notice engines taken apart, patiently and silently awaiting rejuvenating, no rush for high quality job that is his passion and hobby!!
Lash's stable is nice, neat and organized.
There are also Honda Shadow and most recent , 2018 burgundy-red Wing parked there, an all are only 100 km away from my house.

Bike fell over, broke the front brake lever and bent the rear brake
Posted by: jlouis976_imp - 09-09-2018, 09:12 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (24)

I stopped on a hill that banked to the right and I dumped the bike. I’m fine but I bent the front brake lever (then broke it trying to bend it straight) and bent the rear brake pedal.

Do you guys have any tips on where to buy a new front brake lever? Also, is there anything that I need to ensure is still good-to-go/not-damaged from a safety perspective?

This is a 2014 standard black bike. It was flawless. Heck it was new. Now the case has a scratch and the brakes are messed up.

Thank you for your help. Yeah....this sucks.

  cleaning the chain
Posted by: el duque_imp - 09-09-2018, 01:12 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (11)

I know next to nothing about chain bikes. All of the ones I've owned hitherto have been shaft drive.

I had a friend show me how to adjust it. He turned me on to chain wax and said to spray it down every five hundred.

What do you guys use to clean it before you spray it with the wax.

thanks.

What dirt bikes do you ride?
Posted by: Roper_imp - 09-08-2018, 12:43 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (16)

I don't like modern dirt bikes. I don't need the bleeding edge performance. I definitely don't need the frequent maintenance. I really like the new Kawasaki KLX250. But, I don't want to spend that much on a new bike. I've ridden a Honda XR650L. Love the torque and it's great for long flat stretches in the desert. But man, is that thing top heavy. Too big for the mountains around here. I almost bought an XR400. Almost. Its the perfect bike for trails. And, it's bullet proof. However, I finished kicking about 30 years ago.

Today, I bought a 2006 Suzuki DRZ400E. I went out riding in the hills with my son (Honda CRF230F) for about two hours. Okay, I love that DRZ. It makes the perfect power for the way I ride. Yeah, I would have liked an air cooled bike. I would have liked another Honda. But I just can't find one that ticks all the right boxes. Suzuki for the win!

  CB1100 Glossy Japanese Catalog
Posted by: apex1_imp - 09-08-2018, 06:14 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

I just bought an 18 page Japanese language glossy paper CB1100 EX and RS catalog from samurider. It also came with an accessory catalog. There is a lot more cool stuff available from Honda in Japan than we see in the U.S. The photography is great and so is the quality. If you buy one, be sure to check the price before you pay for it--the amount that came up on PayPal was twice as much as the website said. I sent them an e-mail and was promptly sent a note apologizing and containing an invoice for the correct amount. I think it came to about $13 with shipping, and took about 10 days to get to me in Ohio. Here is a link: https://www.samurider.com/?p=26013
