Just wondering about "retro"

Why would the press go head over heels about "how retro" this
brand new JMC is ? I have a hard time to see any much retro
in it other than the round headlight, and round instruments.
Not saying she ain't nice, I like her power-to-weight ratio too,
but retro ?
Please let me know what you think !

Honda in Brazil imported the CB1300 Super Four for 3 years and I was lucky enough to buy and ride this wonderful machine. She's gone, but the memories remain.
In the Brazilian market it is becoming rare to find a good one and consequently prices are increasing.
I believe this is the way that the CB1100 in the American market.
To honor the CB 1300 SF, below are some photos.

Stupid slide!

Unfortunately due to a stupid slide at very low speed (a large oil patch on the asphalt) I got 9 fractured ribs and broke my CB1100EX (it was like new).
The cover meters was destroyed (especially the white inner part) which is not sold as a spare.
The left exhaust was scratched.
Anyone have experience with AliExpress cover meters?
Does anyone who has fitted the 4 into 1 exhaust have the left stock exhaust to sell?
Many thanks
Regards

... shame on you.
Fool me twice, I probably deserve it.
Ugh, after hearing that click when I tried to leave for home on the Bonneville last night, I finally admitted to myself that my two-year old Yuasa was, indeed going six feet under. Despite my efforts to resuscitate it with my Optimate, it's showing 12.7 at rest, but drops to 6.6 when it's trying to crank.
There was a mention of fake Yuasas on another thread. I wondered if that was what I had. Looked back through my purchase history, and got this one on Amazon two years ago. Should I buy a new one from a known, reputable dealer? Probably.
But, Mrs. Gone and I have a war chest of unused gift cards from The Moms over the years, and we realized that we should look to see if any of them are expiring soon.
Another Amazon Yuasa will exactly burn a Visa gift card that will be dead soon, so we'll roll the dice, and if I get another two years, at least I didn't spend cash on it.
And once that's done, I need to get off of my duff and put a charger cable on the 300. Figured that would be just as easy of a job as any other bike. But, no dice. Due to the compact packaging of that little bike, the battery is under the gas tank. Which is under a complex, three-piece decorative cover. So, been waiting for a rainy day for that little project. But, if that battery dies without access to it through a plug, that bike is truly dead in the water, so I should bump it up on the priority list.

to puig or not to puig (or, which Puig screens fit ?)

Went to a accessory shop today, to check out wind-screens for my 2017 EX. Full set of measurements in my pockets, and photos of my headlight, the headlight brackets, and all the rest. My own requirements:
- rapid mount, rapid removal of the screen,
- quality and solid mounting, able to withstand many install/removal cycles without damage to the screen, the mount or the m/c,
- easy adjust of the angle of attack (at least to some degree)
- good protection of my upper body from icy winds in winter,
- cheap (so I don't mind dumping if it doesn't work for me),
- less important ... but still : no or little buffeting at higher speeds.
They had three Puig screens in stock, claimed all three a fit on all CB1100/s - the Mini (~ 25$ , the Vision (~ 40$ , and the Custom (~ 75$ , the first two mounted on the headlight bracket, the last one with versatile mounting on the handlebar (photos follow tomorrow).
Detailed measurements of the EX headlight bracket showed that one would have to squeeze the lower end of the Mini and/or the Vision, and I mean squeeze really hard to make it fit. No doubt in conflict with my 2nd requirement. This will result in micro cracks - sooner or later - where the screws go through the plastic.
So I brought the Custom screen home. Looks like good quality, fits the EX (and probably all earlier models), and last not least all my other boxes ticked. A ride report to follow on the next sunny day.
